Jillian Boileau
Hello! I've been living with type 1 diabetes for 32 years. I grew up not wanting anyone to know about my condition. I was often referred to as "the girl with diabetes" when I was in grade school and I hated it. I grew up learning to hide my disease because I didn't want the label and I definitely didn't want it to define me. As I grew into the person that I am today, I've discovered that even though type 1 diabetes isn't' all that I am, it does play a huge role in my life. I can now see it as a part of me without it being such a burden. I've developed a strong sense of who I am through my journey of health and fitness. I'm so grateful for the type 1 community on KZitem. I'd like to help other people with diabetes with any advice I can give through my years of experience and research. I'm also here to answer questions about diabetes for those without diabetes. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have!
