I don’t understand why nobody make a video in order to see what you see through the scope with the device attached. I mean how is the quality seeing the cross of the scope.

Unfortunately it is a poor thermal image, and a note regarding the pause, yes recalibrating but sorry not all thermals do, only the cheaper ones like Pulsar.

That is an automatic sensor calibration - the so-called NUC(non-uniformity correction). Typical for all thermal imaging cameras. Basically it improves image quality from time to time.

Good point. Rail, however, will limit the space between the clip-on and the barrel. If the day sight is mounted on low rings this can become a problem.

Any possibility that you can see a game camera in the woods with a thermal scope\monocular?
@robertthomson8946
4 жыл бұрын
Well, that depends... It is possible to some degree. The trouble is trail camera is a small box and the only part that's hot in it is electronics inside. On the outside it will look more like a hot spot on the housing of the camera if looked at with thermal. It takes not that much power when there is no movement around and does not heat up much, but still this can be a way to find it in the woods, especially if its cold. I will need to check that... might be an interesting video.

Well, I found that the price is listed here: www.thomasjacks.co.uk/pulsar/product.asp?ref=4173. As for the adaptor options, Pulsar claims to have adaptors in 42, 50 and 56 size, same as for the rest of their line of attachments. It is stated on the Krypton's release page: www.pulsar-nv.com/glo/blog-news/krypton-fxg50-the-most-powerful-thermal-imaging-attachment-from-pulsar/2444/

I just want to say that your video helped me. The Handbook I got with the fqx50 does not cover this at all. Your video is very professional and easy to understand. After mounting my Core, I found out that it dod not hit where the crosshairs of my scope showed. After rereading the handbook, I found out that there is a sub-menu to correct this (Pg. 15/16). My sub-menu did not come up on the screen so I sent the Core and adapter to Pulsar. I was surprised that the missing sub-menu was caused by the adapter being defect. They replaced it and I noww get the sub-menu. It would be nice if your could share any experiences you have using this sub-menu. Would make a fine follow-up Video. Thanks again.
@robertthomson8946

I am glad it helped. The sub-menu appears when you hold pressed left and menu buttons together for maybe 2 seconds. There are two menu options in it - The first one is for zeroing or for fixing the factory screen position calibration if the unit was damaged. When you press it there are 2 stages. Stage 1- should be a small cross and a frame. You have to move the cross to the center of the reticle using X and Y (this is done to show the clip-on where the reticle's center is located, then after saving (holding the menu button pressed) second stage apears. Stage 2 - same small cross and frame and XY coordinates. But the cross no only moves inside the frame. At this stage the small cross has to be moved to the POI. This stage shows the clip-on where the POI is. Now when the unit knows where you reticles center is and where you hit it can move the screen so as to make the hit under your reticles center. But you have to save it of course after stage 2 - long press. Second option in this menu returns the screen coordinates to default factory settings.

Hey - Just a question - Right in the beginning at ~~ 33 seconds why don't you have the two units @ the same zoom settings? IMO by having the XM38 zoomed in farther, it is giving it the appearance that it renders a better, if not crisper image; specifically referring to the people in center frame. Also - Ditch the Music man, not a rave lol

Some basic questions not answered here: 1. How do you set focus on the scope? 2. What parallax do you set the scope to? 3. Do you need to adjust parallax for shooting at different ranges (like you do normally)? 4. If so, does the unit work with a variable objective scope? 5. If not, how does the unit affect parallax? ie: Does alignment of the unit affect placement of image over the reticule?
