ALWAYS: Tomato Soup, Black olives, mailing envelopes (Mead), greeting cards, wrapping paper and gift bags, toothbrushes, dental picks (also great as mascara combs), soaps on occasion, boxed milk, ten packs of small plastic containers , kitchen sponges when they have the kind I like, ...so much more. I try to be mindful of unit price, though, and feel I have a pretty good idea of what is a bargain at DT and what I can buy for a better price elsewher. I am a stationery addict so I always check the stationery and craft aisles for name-brand items or new items. Sometimes, I will buy some of the name brand items even though they are cheaper per unit elsewhere because I don't need a large quantity and it will go to waste. I found a fantastic shipping tape once and bought a couple packages. Hoping to see it again because it was outstanding! (brown paper tape). Have found some great one-off purchases in the past and have learned to stock up when I see them. Canned artichoke hearts, sweet pepper strips, 4C parmesan seasoned bread crumbs are a few.

I have found that people love to shop DT because it’s just a buck. But.... if you really don’t need it, even spending the dollar is a waste. I repurpose glass jars for dry food storage. Easily clean and lasts forever. Also small boxes can be handy for drawer organizing. I try to buy things that last a long time in bulk.

I found the two-pack of white suction hooks are great on bathroom tile. They don't fall off. I buy steel wool pads (with or without soap). The small silicone utensils--pancake turner, spoon, whisk--have lasted over a year with daily use, and show no signs of deteriorating. Pads that are swiffer-like and their mop system--pads wash up great and I use the "mop" with pad to clean off my ceiling fans. I don't buy plastic hooks with stick-on backing UNLESS I am going to replace the weak stick-on backing with command strips. They tend to fall off with the slightest weight otherwise.

Thanks for this video. I buy two things there for sure. One is the big can of Mrs. Eden's Kitchen Peach Halves in Light Syrup. That is a superior product at a fabulous price. It holds 1 lb 8 oz and the peach halves are tasty and not soggy and they are beautiful. It is a great bargain. The other thing I buy there is the boxed milk that is shelf-stable. Those are great to have in your house for when you run low on milk and don't want to do a run to the store. It also works great if you have a second home and don't want to always haul milk to and fro when you go there.

My husband grew up in new Jersey and missed his pretzels from there. We were having to order them until I stumbled on the pretzels at the DT. Now I can't keep enough in the house. I buy the oxy-all they carry which works as good as the name brand. I bought a couple of the shammies there and cut them to fit my wetjet. I wash them, but air dry them only. I get a package of the handi-wipes and cut them down to use as a fabric softener sheet, buy putting them in a sealable container (from the dt) and pouring my fabric softener on them. I just cut up half a package and they've lasted for a year. I keep the rest for backups. I buy fabulosa cleaner and mix it with water to refill my wetjet bottle. ( Just dip the lid in hot water for a min or two, and it can come off. Replace it and tighten and clean my floors as usual.

In the candle and potpourri aisle, I get the (about 4”) square glass containers. I think they’re from Libby. They have rounded edges on top, and are very sturdy. I use them in the bathroom for lipstick/mascara/eyeliner, another for my toothbrush/toothpaste/floss. They’re nice on a desk for pens/pencils, or binder clips/paper clips. In the kitchen, they can hold condiment packets, sweetener packets, rolled up small cloth napkins (just thought of that one!).

The DT anti-fungal cream (clotrimazole) is labeled for athlete’s foot. It is the same brand as the carried at Walmart (88 cents last I bought it, several years ago) and same ingredient as Lotrimine, which costs about $10. 4-5 years ago, a Target/CVS pharmacist suggested I buy the generic (Clotrimazole) for $7 instead of the Rx for $30 (for granddaughter’s bad diaper rash). The DT/Walmart brand is $1 and contains more than generic at Target and the expensive Rx. Works for any fungal rash.

Although I will probably have bad luck for the next 700 years. I have been known to buy greeting cards, tissue paper and gift bags. I also let the kids buy something for 1$. They usually pick out candy or costumes. My daughter is currently paying off debt and has found Dollar Tree to be affordable for groceries for singles. My husband gets these tiny teeth scrubbers to scrub between his teeth. He also grabs a bag of chips for his lunch break and brings home cleaners and otc medicine he likes to use.

I’m in love with your items, Wendy! I was just feeling guilty about asking a mom to make a special “kaper chart” poster for our new Daisy Troop. I will recommend Dollar Tree for the foam core board for her! Those cutting mat hacks are pure genius, btw! I love your reviews of “the DT” and “the 99!” And your devotion to the Betty Crocker items is great to know about! I’m with you on reusing quality packaging. You are such a fun mom and so creative. I probably visit the dollar tree 2x per year, usually close to birthdays. Your videos take a chaotic place and make it so soothing! I’ve missed your channel!

Hi Melissa! The boards in general are good. They also have some trifold cardboard ones 👍 DT does have its place for sure and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels overwhelmed going in 😅. I prefer the 99 cent store because they have more food and produce and their aisles are wider. If I lived in LA I'd bet I'd see you at Jons or Vallarta - what a neat video that would make 🤗

Do you have a dishwasher? It will save you on your water bill compared to handwashing.

Not if you do it right. I use less than a gallon of water a day, and I wash my dishes by hand. You're living in a myth.
