I’m greatly indebted to these two men who have shared their insights and lessons to better improve my life and run away from the boy I used to be.
Goggins showed me how anyone is capable of achieving great feats as long as you are willing to change and to hold yourself accountable as the world doesn’t. His vulnerabilities, suffering, and battles endured have molded him into a true warrior and I cannot express my happiness to learn about his transformation and live in a world where men like him exist.
" Comfort zones: If you live in one too long… that becomes your norm. Get comfortable being uncomfortable."
- David Goggins.
Dr. Peterson taught me the importance of responsibility. To get your act together and do something worthwhile. Responsibility gives meaning to life. I blamed the world for my inability to do well, I resented the system, I gave off my responsibilities to others, and lived with a victim mentality. This gremlin inside my head still exists and I struggle with it. But through the lessons and insights of these two, I’m able to struggle well and equip myself with the tools to navigate the world.
I hope by sharing my experience, you too can pick up tools you can utilize and share along with your loved ones and community. Knowledge itself isn’t power but its utility of it is.
“Don’t underestimate the power of vision and direction. These are irresistible forces, able to transform what might appear to be unconquerable obstacles into traversable pathways and expanding opportunities.”- Dr. Peterson
