Wake up body and mind with this energizing Sun Salutations yoga practice. These are my variations of the classic Surya Namaskar A, B, and C. We flow through each sequence 2 times, for a total of 6 salutations in 20 minutes. Eventually, you can memorize this simple routine and practice on your own anytime and anywhere.
How are these different from the traditional Sun Salutations A, B, and C?
- We take more time to get into poses and flow through the sequence
- We have more flexibility with the breathing pattern (not necessarily one breath per movement)
- We add a few poses such as twists and side stretches (these spinal movements are not included in the original versions)
- We allow for more options and modifications to suit different needs and levels of experience (for example, you don't have to "jump" or "float" back to chaturanga)
