Thanks for the great video. I had a 1994 astro add changed plugs wires cap and rotor in about 2000. Now I have a 2002 astro with 260000 kilometers and changed the plugs wires cap and rotor today. Just a note, all were the original parts as I bought this Astro with 45000 K on it. The trick with the hose on the plug worked great to get the plugs started. I used anti seize on the plug threads and a silicone on the wire caps that is made for it. Today's date is Jan 6 2019 and the temperature went down to freezing about half way through the job. It took 4 hours and all worked out. I only need to install the dog house tomorrow. Once again thanks for a great video.

The first time I changed mine, for my 03 safari , the drivers side was a nightmare but I did it, then the passenger side was easy. If someone wants to do theirs they better start at the drivers side to get it over with fast.

you should put some dielectric grease in the caps, it will help keep the moisture out and help when you have to do a tune up again. the caps will come off a lot easier.

Great video For a person who is not a Mechanic. Or a Camera man. May be the vehicle Doing the losing power cause a wire set. But is good you changed the spark plugs. You never know. My was a wire rubbing metal for so many years. Changed it problem fixed. But GM recommends change spark plugs and wire set every 100,000 is good you put anti seize. Help to metal not melting together cause it by heat. A Dielectric silicone help with electric parts to keep dry and smooth to removed. GOOD VIDEO. CONGRAT

HI Yusuf, the rubber hose I believe is a 3/8 rubber hose that you can buy at any auto parts store. I believe you can buy a piece by the square foot, to property know the exact size it is better to take the spark plug with you to the store and try to fit in the hose. Please let me know if that is anything else I can help you with. Do it yourself and save that money!

I suggest using an impact wrench with hot engine technique! My plugs were seized into position the only way I could get them out was to heat up the engine, then shut it off pull the plug wire and use an impact wrench with a bunch of extensions to not get loose. With the engine heated up the metal expands a little bit making it possible to get the plugs out. If you don't heat up the engine it's a good chance you could just break off the plugs!!! So do ONE PLUG AND ONE WIRE AT A TIME... That way you can heat up the engine before attempting each plug!

does cylinder 1 connect to spark plug one?
@greenecocarpetupholsterycl735

+Green Eco Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning OK so does that mean cylinder 1 is still spark plug 1? or which spark plug do you think cylinder 1 goes to? I have to replace it and only have the cash to replace the one cylinder one goes/connects/fires to ?
@greenecocarpetupholsterycl735
6 жыл бұрын
So spark plug 1 goes to firing order 1. Now the plugs you can purchase individually in any auto store, however, the spark plug wires they only sell as a set. It recommended if you are going to charge a plug is better to change it all to include the wires. Let me know if it helps.

This reality helps the diy'er prep for the diy task...or decide to have a pro-tech do it for him/her...and pay the BIG bucks. This video and his comments will definitely help me when I diy the r&r of my plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. A BIG MAHALOS to you, bruddah green eco carpet cleaning dude guy!!!🤙🏝🤙
