Finally posting a review of my 2017 Sea Doo Spark Trixx 2up with the 90hp/ 900HO Ace engine, and telling you everything that I like and don't like about it
WD 40 is NOT a lubricant. Do not use it on your steering column as one. It it’s a water displacement( WD) and penetrating solvent to help free up stuck mechanisms. You must use marine grease or something similar after you CLEAN THE PARTSwith WD40

Ive had sparks since day one and never had this "heat soak " problem . I think you might need you throttle calibrated or check for water in your hull . As far as the steering squeak take 10 minutes and remove the front plastic nose piece and the lower 2 bolts on the steering link Apply marine waterproof grease to the wear areas of the bushings and reinstall. WD40 is not a lube.

Your steering noise is from using WD40. It’s not a good product. 2nd, The cam clap can be adjusted.

Oh snap. Thank you!! Have you considered doing the racing lab flash? A lot cheaper than buying a maptuner. Would you recommend removing the ribbon? I’m like rocking back and fourth about doing it. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

@@ThirdStrikeGaming I didn't even know about that, I wanted the map tuner but I heard they're very complicated, and the ribbon is worth it, plus a cold air intake really wakes it up and it sounds awesome when you get in it

Can u please clarify what you mean about the heat. I'm thinking of buying one. Do you mean it doesn't run well when the engines hot or the hull becomes too warm when riding hard?
@erickmoney2691

cold air intake will fix the issue, you can buy one online for like 250 or make one yourself (theres a video that says you can do it for 30 bucks) this baby is worth the money! Most fun since my old 95 spx

I take mine out in the Florida sun with 90+ degree days for 100+ mile trips. The only time it feels “boggy” is when I forget to put it in sport mode. Otherwise it’s always the same. Day in day out, beginning of trip, end of trip, it always feels exactly the same.

I had thought about buying another 99 XP (they average about $3200 used in Oregon) to go with the one I already have, but after looking at long term cost (and the huge number of hours we've been putting in each year), simply grabbing a Spark from the dealer made more sense, and becomes a wash after a couple years. 1. Oil. Amsoil ain't cheap, and I don't do cheap oil. I do worry about water in the oil sump after a hydro lock on the Trixx, though. You're not clearing a 4 stroke on the beach if you ingested H2O, but as I understand it, the Thumpers don't do it nearly as often as a Zinger. 2. Gas. OMG, the gas. It only likes non ethanol race gas at $5 a GL, and it likes eating it more than a fat kid likes cake. Getting at most 2 hours of fun out of an 11 gallon tank of high test w/premix, that's about $65 a tank. My truck is cheaper to fill up. The Spark will cost me a quarter of that for the same 2 hours. 3. Warranty. Buying ANY used 2 smoke ski is like just like any girlfriend. She was somebody elses expensive problem once, and now she's yours. I've had 6 skis in my life, all used, and never has there been one, no matter how nicely maintained, that didn't require something in short order. Solenoids, CDI's, wear rings, head gaskets, temp sensors, fuel lines, water boxes. Take your pick. SOMETHING is wrong with it, or about to be. 4. Rebuilds. Two strokes have short lives. It's just the nature of the beast. They're cheap to fix, cheap to replace, but you do it so much it's the same $$ in the end anyways. Do the maintenance, and a thumper engine will far, far outlive the normal time span of 140 hours when you better start getting nervous about your 2 smoke. 5. Closed cooling. Now that thrills me to no end. The amount of seaborne crap that gets sucked through the cooling ecosystem of open loop skis is unholy. It's almost like they were designed to be a problem.... 6. No more detonated waterboxes or spark arrestor worries. 7. Resale value. I swear to christ, every guy reselling a spark on Craigs is asking more than what it costs from the dealership.

Dr dwg, I tried my buddy's trixx and I had my girlfriend on the back with me and it took us across the water just fine. No wobbles or shaking from it at all. It was overall a perfect ride very smooth. No issues at all.. I really don't see how it can't be tidden with two people on it,. I for one did not have a problem.
