Do you grow Chicago Hardy? Is the taste that much different?

Hey Nick. Yeah, I grow Chicago Hardy in ground. I'll be honest, I personally like CH! However, I feel that when both are ripened properly, a Smith is a hard one to beat against MANY varieties! But at the end of the day, any ripe fig is still a great piece of fruit in my book! ;-)

@@dad2-491 agreed! I have both and don’t taste much difference. I have not had any smith ripen after 4 years and multiple trees. The strain I have does not want to fruit lol. Thanks for the quick response

@@GrowingWithNick After growing many varieties over the past few years, I honestly believe that sunlight has a LOT to do with fruiting. Is it possible that they are in a place that gets a lot of shade? I realize not all properties allow for this. It may have a lot to do with varieties, but I have several first year fig trees that are fruit really well this year. May be worth trying another strain if sunlight is not the issue.

You may need to start another channel that is purely fig related! 😉
