I own the 1500 version of this as well as a f250, the capability these vehicles offer our farming business is supreme no duelcab ute comes close. Only gripe with the chevy is they use waxed chassis ,its a black wax coating that attracts thick dust and requires maintenance to address surface rust in areas where the coating has been depleted. Can't use lanolin or petroleum based oils on it as it softens the factory coating. We put it over a hoist every 12 months and clean and re-coat with cosmoline and black oxide which is the closest product to the factory coating..

The big issue is towing 3.5t or more is the payload at just over 700 kg is very restrictive. Remember if your van is 2.5t then you have to deduct about 250kg from your payload. 500 kg mean 2 people and not much weight in the tray, or 4 people and almost no further weight can be carried. Getting the car registered as nb2 is a lot cheaper than retro fitting it to that. So my advice is in almost all cases if you are towing 2.5 tonnes plus buy it as nb2 speced and you won’t have to worry about your weights again.

All depends on what you are doing with it. It is actually not large enough to do what I need a pickup to do. My last pickup was a Ram 2500 diesel and I could not use my flatbed gooseneck trailer at anywhere close to its 26,000lb capacity. That meant multiple trips for smaller equipment and not being able to move larger equipment. The 2500s are very practical for trailers in the 3500 to 6500kg range, or lighter trailers with a lot of windage. There is a reason that we consider the 2500s to be the first class of pickup truck for real towing here in North America. That being said, I have seen quite a few 2500s and 3500 single rear wheels blown over on their side when hauling too big a trailer across the Great Plains.

If you are looking at 1500s I wouldn't go with a bed shorter than the approximately 6.5 footers.

@@rebekahm4919 I prefer the longer beds too. Current truck has an 8'2" bed.

Paul, you needs to cover what's in the tray with a rear net or similar, it's illegal to drive a ute having stuff inside and not covered in some way to stop stuff flying out, you will get fined and lose license points if pulled over for this, Ask me how I know !!!

Only real disappointment there is no real amenaties for the rear, yes theres are vents but no inempnednt zone could have added cooled seats to the back too. have zones for the front but the back is ma rather bland, true for all bakkies actually buy especially here as the front is so kitted out

Find a closed road and overload that thing and see how it tows. I’ll bet you the rated payload is extremely underrated.

Take it to shopping centre and park the oversized piece of crap

I park something much bigger at shopping centers all the time. Once you are used to the size it is not an issue as long as you always reverse into the space.

When those trucks are built theres no posi additive. Need to either add or GM rrp said add 2 bottles and do diff service with synthetic gear oil early. So once posi lube is in no more gripes on rear posi they work good

Love the look of them, glad the interior has been updated that poxy infotainment screen on the old model looked silly. Still have nothing on my new raptor in regards to interior
