What is your favorite trick to keep blood sugar stable?

If you like spaghetti or pastas boil your pasta or spaghetti, drain and rinse with cold water. Put it in the refrigerator overnight the night BEFORE you plan on using it. Don't put anything on it, just put it in there plain. The next day, take your pasta or spaghetti out of the fridge and prepare your meal. Heat up the spaghetti or pasta. Don't eat it cold. It must be reheated. Doing this will cause blood sugars to not raise dramatically like they would if you cooked and ate it right away. 1) boil pasta the night before 2) drain and rinse under cold water 3) refrigerate plain pasta overnight 4) prepare pasta the next day 5) heat up the pasta I'm not a doctor or nutritionist, but I do know this does work to help keep blood sugars stable if you feel the need to eat pasta in a meal.

I'm wondering about the histamine levels? "Leftovers" increase in histamines just because they are sitting in the frig. Any thoughts?

What are your blood sugar test results? How much difference do your blood sugar results show, comparing traditional prep and your suggested prep? Do you have results from other people, too?

I have Barretts Disease which, according to doctors, is caused by excessive reflux. Therefore my doc wants me to take proton pump inhibitors (Nexium). Being aware of the damage PPI's do to the body I am reluctant to follow doc's orders and only take the Nexium when I am about to have a heavy or late meal. I'd much prefer to take a more wholistic approach to my issues. However, given my stomach issue I don't tolerate vinegar or many other acidic products but also struggle with high(ish) blood sugar. Do you have any recommendations on how I best deal with this? Thank you!

@@DrDavidJockers Per communist Dr. google: Certain vinegars are rated as high histamine, and so off-limits for most of us. This includes red and white vinegars, as well as balsamic vinegar. However, white distilled vinegar scores as 0 on the SIGHI list, and so lower histamine.

How much of the MCT oil do you take?
@DrDavidJockers
Жыл бұрын
Great question, typically begin with 1/2 tsp with a meal and you can gradually work up to 1 tbsp if your body tolerates it well. Too much MCT oil too quickly can cause loose stools. Read more here: drjockers.com/5-reasons-use-mct-oil-ketosis/

It seems that the keto - high fat, moderate protein and low carb diet is creating insulin insensitivity due to the high fat clogging the liver and muscles. It looks pretty good after that keto meal, but 5 or 6 hours later the blood sugar and insulin rise much more.
