I’ve lost almost 90 pounds so far. I hit plateaus mainly in the beginning. I do intermittent fasting (cycle 1 or 2 meals a day), low carb (cycling in and out of keto but still low carb), and exercise. The calories are what I modify to keep from a weight loss plateau. When I notice a slow down I increase my calories back to a maintenance level, some times higher, for a month or so then back if I want to lose more weight. For perspective the weight loss was over an almost 2 year period to avoid the “crash and rebound”. So far that’s what’s working for me. Great video and channel! I’m learning a lot. Keep them coming.

Hey Kait. I found your channel primarily looking for content relative to my wife's journey but now we're both hooked. I'm down 55 and Trish is down 35 since we began on July 1st '22. However, we both hit the plateau around mid-October. Your videos are chocked full of great content and you make it very easy to understand. In early January we'll both be over 60 and would like to hear from you additional things to keep in mind along our continued journey.

I've lost 100 pounds by doing carnivore. Recently I've tried adding other foods to increase my metabolic flexibility. I've also had some issues with sleeping well. Went from 8 hours to around 5 hours a night. Because of these changes I've gained almost 20 pounds. I know that I slept better while doing carnivore, so I thought about going back to that. The reason I added other foods was that I had stopped losing weight and my energy level had tapered off. This video has given me some food for thought. As always, your videos are informative, and in this case, timely! Thank you so much for your hard work!

Maybe you had to look for the real reason why the energy lvls and losing weight problem happened, which is not the carnivore diet clearly.

@@Reviewslady It took me about a year, but I'm retired and had all the time in the world to concentrate on doing things correctly. I could see where it may be harder with a full-time job and all sorts of responsibilities and commitments. You just have to be determined, and no matter what happens just keep trying. You will see all sorts of advice but remember that everyone is a little different. Things don't work the same for everyone. You need to find what works for you and stick to it. It can be frustrating at times. Just keep in mind that it is totally possible to get healthy and lose the weight. It's important to get healthy first. The weight loss will come along afterwards. Great video Kait. I hit a plateau for 6 months. After talking with a few people I discovered I was eating the same amount of food I always ate. I had to scale back my carbs. Boom, weight starting falling again. Started at 247 lbs 32% body fat, stalled at 205-210 lbs and got as low as 184 lbs. Being 6 ft tall I'm happy to be bouncing between 185 and 190 with 14% body fat. 😁

Good Job James! Now to stay at 180-185 and stay at normal health weight. A bit of a treat, but you can do it. Yeah watch the simple carbs. May want to have your blood sugar checked and HBA1C to ensure you are not pre-diabetic . You do not want to be prediabetic / insulin resistant . Sounds like you are healthy now. Please work to stay that way! Cheers to good health .

I take my blood pressure daily and blood glucose 2-3 times a week. Doc checked my cholesterol 2 months ago and all is still good there. It is no longer a diet. It's a lifestyle.

Yes, insulin resistance is a bear, and it’s the main reason why PCOS patients have difficulty losing weight and can gain weight relatively easily. I’m glad you mentioned it. Along with dietary changes, the GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro are major game changers in helping PCOS patients break through insulin resistance without having to go through invasive WLS.
