@@vonny10096 must have been a nightmare back then for the elderly couple when the lifts at Angel broke down often and had to use the stairs.

And me! I lived off the Essex Road and dreaded coming home from work via the Angel to find the lifts were out of order and all those stairs to climb! I was only 21 then and it was a struggle!

You wouldn't have to now, at least not at the Angel!! Those stairs have been out of bounds since 1992!!

LTM's Hidden London Hangouts S4E18, on KZitem, visits this station in 2021. The lifts and corridors are now disused and the presenter Alex stands near the exact same spot (32.14) the lift attendant stood in this clip at 5:58, 32 years apart. made my hairs stand on end.

I used to be scared of the Old platforms of Angel station when I was small, because of the island platform, I thought I was having a nightmare, it looked scary, not safe, I felt I was going to die

Yes because billions of pounds have been spent on the London Underground while the rest of the country still resembles the 1970s. If you don't believe me, check out some of the train stations near where I live. Some of them don't even have lifts for disabled people or people with heavy luggage.
