NonstandardDeviation for sure! We are at a point where there aren’t any more gimmicks that a theatre can throw at us to try to lure us out of our home theatres. Vibrating/ twisting seats, 4D air blasts and mists, expanded menu/booze... no thanks. Avatar revitalized and set the bar with 3D but that’s all but dead already. Unless the movie is something I ‘have to’ see as soon as it drops, I’m a pretty patient guy. Always worth the wait when I watch at home. And my popcorn and drinks are better 🍻

smoke 14 they are still being released but the format is essentially dead. The number of new TV’s at the new CES show this year that have 3D? Zero. I’m sure eventually the releases will reflect. I have a 3D projector. I’m hoping they still continue to release. The new technology seems to be evolving to ‘no glasses’ 3D. Be interesting how Cameron releases Avatar sequels... either way be ready for regular 3D to totally die and upgrade in the next 5+ years. Everyone currently on the 4K bandwagon right now- and there’s no such thing as a 4K 3D movie. We’re at the mercy of the studios man. Have your wallet ready for when they dangle the newest gold carrot technology in front of us and make our current equipment obsolete

Youthman I followed your Power Sound Audio S3611 review to the end including the shootout with the PB-16 Ultra. My subs have been the Outlaw Ultra subwoofer and a Sunfire MK4 true subwoofer. My room is slightly smaller than yours at 11.7 x 15.10 x 10. I've been in audio since 1974 and have owned many fine products but I have to say that this Power Sound Audio S3611 subwoofer is truly staggering in my room.The sub perfoms exactly as you described only I was surprised at just how tight the bass is.The Improvement across the board was so significant that I had to to share with all your followers. I've read hundreds of reviews since I've been in the audio hobby but never a review that nailed a product quite like this.This sub made my previous two subwoofers sound like toys and I'm not exaggerating.I've been listening to The University of North Texas One O`Clock Lab Jazz Band. Holy Cow I feel the trombone air hitting me in the face. I know many have already told you but I want to thank you again for your fine efforts.

Hi John, first of all thank you so very much for taking the time to share your thoughts with everyone. The S3611 is truly a beast of a subwoofer. Love your "HT of the mth" videos. Noticing not just in your videos but most videos of HT rooms on YouTUbe...people are spending their money on gear and "luxuries" (e.g. wet bar, popcorn makers...etc.). But, 90% of the time people forget one very important part of building a HT room. And that is the "sound suppression" aspect. We all want to be able to crank up our audio once in a blue moon to reference levels. Most of the time -15 to -10dB. Hard to do even that unless we happen to have the most understanding neighbours. Even then you don't want to piss them off in the slightest. And most of the time we do...heh... Best HT? A room that's been sound treated. Allowing us to have the audio at reference yet unheard once the door is closed. If anything a very faint "thump thump" of the LFE...but well below conversation levels which I think is 50dB? Hope to see a HT room where they DID spend enough money to build pretty much a cocoon. Sound contained in the HT room.

Unless you have a ton of money, most people do not have that luxury. It’s very difficult and expensive to completely isolate a room from the outside world and especially the rest of your house. I’m sure they are out there, I just have not run into one yet

You have a 5.2.6 setup. Unfortunately the 6012 cannot process 6 Atmos speakers. It is equipped with 9 channel amplification, rated at 110 watts per channel (8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% 2ch Drive), so you can set up a 7.1.2 or 5.1.4 3D experience without an external amplifier;

Hey Youthman, you've listened to most Klipsch speakers that were released in the past 15 years or so. Can I ask you for your opinion on the following? I have a pair of RF-63's and an RC-62 for my center channel. I need to pick a subwoofer to go with them and am leaning toward SVS. I do 90% movie watching with it. I can't decide between the PB-1000 and the PB-2000. I know it seems a no brainer to go with the PB-2000, but I also live in an apartment. I might not be able to use the PB-2000 to its full potential.If possible, I'd rather spend the difference between the PB-1000 and PB-2000 on something else. But I also don't want the RF-63's to potentially outshine the sub. What would you do?

@@Dillithium Try the pb-2000 with the Soundpath isolators from SVS underneath. I went as far to put those carpet moving men underneath those. This will really isolate the sub from the floor, and help calm down the sound coupling with the floor. The good thing, is if you move, you can use the upgrade program to get some larger subs later.

Hi, Wondering whether you can help me deciding few things for home theatre set up. I am buiding a new house with media room dimentions of L28 x W14 x H9.8 feet. Planning a 185" Screen innovation zero edge acoustic screen as I wish to hide the front 3 (may be + 2 front high) speakers. I was initially planning to go with SVS Ultra speaker system 9.2.6 but after reviewing so many videos on KZitem, I am bit confused - 1. SVS Ultra towers Vs Prime Pinnacle Vs Klip RF 7III - Thought RF 7III sensitivity is better - ? your comments pls. 2. Also with front speakers, I want to place them behind the acoustic screen like your Youthman - Advice on screen type pls 3. Regarding Book shelfs will there be different in choose a speaker that can be in wall speakers like Klip PRO-250RPW LCR vs on the wall Klip RP-600M. 4. Regarding seperates vs receiver - Is it of to buy medium range receiver like Marantz 7013 as it has the spotify / Alexa integration and have power amps like Emotiva DR3 + XPA 7 + XPA 5. I or choose either Emotiva RMC 1 (or XMC 2) + Power Amps mentioned. 5. Would you suggest in ceiling for Atmos or on the ceiling. Similarly in wall or on the wall side / bookshelf speakers? Sorry lot of question. Thanks in advance. Raj
@Youthman
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Samraj, Wow, 185" screen! I'm jealous. :) I have not heard the prime pinnacle. They are a lower series than the Ultra Towers so I would not expect them to outperform them. I have reviewed both the RF7 III and SVS Ultra Towers and no doubt the RF7 III are a better sounding speaker. Massive 1.75" compression tweeter vs 1" in the SVS, Dual 10" woofers provides more slam than the Ultra towers. And the larger cabinet and large horn loaded tweeter, the RF7 III provide a much more enveloping sound along with a wider sound stage. Physics alone help dictate the RF7 III ability to outperform the Ultra Towers. For screen, I went with Seymour and am VERY pleased. I prefer bookshelf speakers over inwalls. Typically you will achieve a better sound with book shelf speakers vs inwalls. My vote is Marantz over Emotiva until they can get all of the bugs worked out. the Marantz SR8012 that I have works flawlessly. Can't say that for the RMC-1. In-ceiling work great for Atmos. On wall for surround instead of In-wall. Sorry this is one long paragraph. The computer would not let me create new paragraphs. Hope that helps.

I have a question that I hope you can answer. Why do more expensive projectors have lower lumens than less expensive ones? Example: the epson 5050ub has 2600 lumens and sells for 2600 dollars and the sony that sells for 7000 to 8000 dollars have 1800 lumens. My concern with lumens is I will be installing my projector in my living room and it has some ambient lighting. I've been told higher lumens would be best but I just dont understand if the more expensive projectors have better pictures how is it possible with lower lumens? Is it that the more expensive projectors are rated differently when it comes to lumens or is it somthing else. I will be purchasing what ever projector I decide in March of this year. What projector would be best for my situation the epson 5050ub or the sony 265 or sony 285 .there is a considerably difference in price but I'm willing to wait and save if the sony will give me a better picture with my ambient light issues. Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes back then we mounted surround speakers in the rear corners angled down towards the listening position. Dolby later recommended placing them to the sides using wide dispersion speakers placed 2’-‘3’ above your ears. Now with Dolby Atmos, they recommend surrounds (bed later) places at war level to provide separation between them and the Atmos speakers. It’s ever changing
