Glad you're happy with it Chris. Plus a really nice build. I concur on threaded BBs. Personally, I'm pleased Manufacturers trend of going back to Threaded.

Yep same here. Argon 18's new bikes that they will release will all come with threaded BBs too

Thank you for the video Chris.. Stunning looking bike the Argon.. You said a medium is that like a 54 or a 56 ?
@ChrisHallRides

Because of how the the 3d plus headset works it sort of sits between a 54 and 56. A large covers a range of 53-57 for example too. With Cervelo I rode a 54 but could also ride a 56.

Hi Chris! Thanks for the review. I'm thinking about buying new gravel bike and Argon DM is on my list. Have you ever had problems with press fit BB? This is my biggest concern in this bike.
@ChrisHallRides
2 ай бұрын
Nope I’ve had no issues at all, just got to make sure you’ve got a good quality bb like an enduro bb or wheels manufacturing bb. I prefer threaded bbs just as it’s a bit easier for me to maintain at home but press fit ones, well installed are absolutely fine

I like the geometry of my first gen Dark Matter, but I really hate the creak on the bottom bracket (BB86). First used a Kogel BB, then changed to Shimano, and now to Wheels Mfg thread-together BB and it still creaks!

Sorry to read that, could be worth trying an enduro bb?

@@ChrisHallRides I have it for close to 3 years now. At this point, might as well look at replacing the frame. I wish frames would all go to threaded BB, one less potential heaedache.

Certainly sounds like a very capable steed, would you say more comfortable than the Aspero 5?

Considerably more comfortable. Really surprised me actually

Sweet bike, but pretty sure you don't need a Goat link to run a 40t cassette on a 2x GRX derailleur. Shimano notoriously undersell the capacity of their rear derailleurs, I've run a 40t on my 7000 series 105 derailleur for 15000 miles with no problem after cranking down the B-screw a bit. If the road groupset can do it, the gravel groupset must be able to as well!

You don’t need it but it helps reduce a lot of tension on the mech incase you accidentally cross chain

Nope I have it set up 2x. They offer two different length chain guide things too. One for 2x and one for a 1x setup

@@ChrisHallRides I was debating putting a 38cm bar on my gravel bike. Think that would be OK for lite gravel?
