Dude, it’s not mysterious at all. You’re almost 40 and been exposed to soooo very much music in your life. I’m almost 60 and my head is filled with music from ....100 years ago. It’s all around us, every day, even if we don’t choose it. However, it’s so much fun seeing your reactions. You have Star charisma, and almost childlike wonderment. JUST what I needed in these trying times. Lol, I wish you were my son’s BFF and we could all sit back, tune in and chill together. 💖

The version of walk this way that Aerosmith did with Run DMC was awesome. But it wasn't a collab in the sense that some people seem to think. Run DMC had nothing to do with writing the song (even though you will still here people to this day making that claim). The song was published on Aerosmith's 'Toys in the Attic' album in 1975, when the members of Run DMC were only 10 and 11 years old.

The intro involves a guitar “Talk Box”, where your voice becomes guitar-ified. In this intro, you can hear the words “Sweet Emotion” said slowly. You may recall other songs which involve a talk box, like Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On a Prayer” or Peter Frampton’s “Show Me The Way”, and maybe “Mr. Blue Sky” by ELO.

Man, this is the first time I've ever commented. Been watching and enjoying the videos and music (and your reactions, of course 😄) for a year or so. I've just recently realized there's a lack of Aerosmith....and I'm talking about their good era (mainly the 70s...'73-'78 to be precise). By then the drugs were too big of an issue. Negatively affecting many aspects of the band, and certainly not sustainable. Anyway, this is getting too long, and I'll be surprised if you actually read it, but if you do, keep up the good work!! I love it. I've heard and loved these songs for so long, its impossible to know how'd they'd sound to me now, if it were the first time. So it's fascinating to witness that experience taking place.

Ya know, Aerosmith were (are) great rockers but they also always......and I remember this even back in the 1970's when I was first listening to them....always had that little bit of funk/R&B thing going on with them too, and Steve Tyler always had an almost scat/rap style to his vocal delivery. Whether it was this song, or "Last Child" or "Walk This Way" or even "Train Kept A Rollin'" or "Rag Doll," there was always that funky rhythm soul thing to their songs that I loved. So it was no surprise to me when they hooked up with Run-DMC in the mid-80's, that always seemed like a natural fit to me.

In 1976 I saw a three band show - Angel Rush and Aerosmith. It was the Toys in the Attic tour. One of the most amazing shows I have seen in my 45 years of concert going. They were the shit!

IIRC, there was basically an olde medieval (?) wive's recipe involving rabbit urine (?) in makeshift a pregnancy test. Turns out the chemistry was later found to be scientifically sound.

There are multiple great songs from Aerosmith Aerosmith is the American Rolling Stones They’ve been called that many times and for good reason they had two parts to their career the first half which was through the 70s and the second half that came back sometime in the 80s and progressed through the 90s and the current day it’s arguably better the second time around but I love the original stuff it’s just incredible they are truly one of the greatest American treasures. You have to listen to songs like kings and queens draw the line. Last child, And back in the saddle. All incredible priceless songs I can’t express how good they are. Of course the second half of their career was incredible (love in an elevator Janie’s got a gun and so on.

To this day, I still think the use of the Triangle during the last verse is a stroke of genius. The use of the vibraslap at the start of the song was also a cool percussion choice.

I was a huge Aerosmith fan back in HS. There was an arcade game called Generation X where you had to rescue the band -- I wasted so much change getting the final ending with my friends. All the while jamming to their music. You might ant to give Train Kept a Rollin' a listen.

I’m a HUGE Aerosmith fan, since the late 70’s. wait for it............, lol. Intro has some great bass from Tom Hamilton. The only place I think you might have heard this before is from Aerosmith, they’ve been around since the 70’s. Joe Perry uses the talk box in the beginning of the song, the thing that Peter Frampton used in Do You Feel Like We Do. Since Aerosmith is a big part of my collection I can point you in a huge direction: Here’s some suggestions: Same Old Song and Dance No More, No More Toys In The Attic Back In The Saddle Nobody’s Fault Sick As A Dog Draw The Line Kings and Queens No Surprise That’s a small list from their first 5 albums. I’m not going to say I’m an expert on Aerosmith, but I’ve been a fan for over 40 years. \m/ Stay Metal \m/
