I'm really glad to find this! My ex-wife had the Laguna and it ended up being exposed to rain for 3 days when the hurricane tore the roof off her building. She gave it to me, and I am rebuilding it using LinuxCNC to add MUCH more functionality to it including a LASER engraver for example. Our version is the older (10 years ago) version with a slightly different gantry assembly. I will be replacing the MDF spoilboard with PVC from Home Depot to add a mist coolant system for aluminum cutting. Your link does not appear to be available... but I found another very similar unit that should work well. I like your clamping equipment... that was not part of our package, unfortunately... but I will be adding it.

Thank you for sharing. Did you have to retram after replacing spindle? I think I need to tram my IQ based on looking at a recent surfacing job I did. I’m not quite sure the right way to do this.

I did not retram it. But if you wanted too they make a tramming tool that makes it easy. It tightens into the tool holder and has two dial indicators offset by about 6-8"s or so. It makes it very easy. If I remember correctly the back part that holds the spindle did not move when I swapped them out.

I'd be curious how much it costs? I didn't personally but I did buy a spare unit to have just in case.
