Curious. The Vulcan's ( V3's anyway - 700mm in particular ) have been known to have a loud and 'unpleasant' ping for quite sometime. As another commentator mentioned that SA guy ( African Air Ordinance) makes / sells upgrade kits that eliminate this. **BUT** I thought I'd read / seen a video ( or something ) recently that AGT was shipping guns with their own in house developed depingers.

@@ShootingTargets727 the new v3’s should have dual ported barrels and depinger, attached to valve housing that screws into plenum. That’s very recent changes, soo hard telling if yours has dual Port and depinger unless you degass and pull plenum out. 🍻

African Air Ordinance sells an upgrade kit Gen 2 for Vulcan 3. Includes depinger, bottle valve upgrade, hammer springs, and magazine enhancements. He’s got a KZitem channel with same name above. Great vid! 👍🏼

Great video, very informative. Next time try to measure with a pellet in the chamber to see if the load of the pellet makes the ping last longer as the pellet travels in the barrel.
@Bravo3d

Also try the put the sensor on the back like you have it and in the front end of the barrel to see if the free floating barrel is pinking longer by its self.

The Condor in .22 is more than 10dB (if I remember correctly) louder firing loaded than blank. Makes sense, the back of the projectile essentially creating a shockwave front, narrowing and spiking the sound profile.

Guns, piezos and oscilloscopes.. awesome man! Here's a neat little trick for reducing the ping on the Condor: slide some stripped electrical wire insulator over the spring (and maybe sandpaper the outside so it fits smoothly in the tube). Haha, if you have a frequency generator you can send the inverse wave pattern over your gun as you shoot to have total harmonic cancellation... digital silencers.. Hello BlackRock...🤣

lol, i forgot about the inverse wave thing.... Tells you how long I been out of electronic engineering. Anyway, good tips and thanks for watching.

Can you try shooting pcp with nitrogen or helium gas it is supposed to give 40% more velocity due to faster traveling gases compared to regular air.
@ShootingTargets727
Жыл бұрын
Sorry have heard some of that stuff is dangerous to do. I seen some aftermath of a guy shooting helium and things did not go well for him. He tried that for the same reason getting more speed. FYI be-careful we are already pushing 4500 psi and guns are at 300 bar ...

Very interesting. What are the vibration sensors that you used? And how did you connect them to the oscilloscope? Regards,
@ShootingTargets727
Жыл бұрын
Piezo electric sensor that detects vibrations. This allows us to connect +/- negative wires to the O-scope to grab the voltage generated. The more vibration the bigger the voltage and longer the voltage thus more ping... Hope this helps.

The Vulcan 3 has it… a lot of it. A local guy here made something to cure it in mine though. Not sure exactly what he used.

I think you’ll find that the .22 pings the worst of the 3. After my .30 got broke in and I put a decent tune on it. The ping is nearly gone. My .25 on the other hand is well broke in and has a great tune, but still pings a bit. I did try a depinger from a kit I purchased, and it didn’t seem to help a noticeable amount. With that said, it’s definitely bearable, and nowhere near a deal breaker for me. But I am working on creating a home made depinger. I also have an Uragan 2 in .25 and it has next to zero ping. Very relatable to my fx maverick . Both running roughly 82fpe. Also, all of my AGT guns are wood stock, wonder if that helps dampen the ping, more or less than synthetic?? Great video! Can’t wait to see how you get on with them! 🍻

Marauders have 2 distinct pings, to fix them I do the following: I use a leather faced striker (compressed leather in a small pocket a couple hundredths larger than the valve stem which contacts the valve stem) Traditional De-pinger (removes the air tube ping, very much so when done correctly)

Yeah, I kinda like the ping, lol . My taipan vet long 25 cal 450 mm barrel shooting 26 gr hades at 895 has a ping, but it's not that bad ..... but that's all you hear is the ping, not the gun. It's so quiet, but you do hear on the video or camera picks it up the fx impact m3 I can hear it bad because I'm using a tungsten 14 gram weight lol so yeah it's a lil annoying thanks for sharing bsafe buddy 👍

Yep, I was going to do that as the difference, so people can hear it. That being said, now with the o-scope we can give people the length in milliseconds so if you know one gun you could say yea it is like 5 times longer or something along those lines, Wish I had a bulldog as a data sample.
