Tír na nÓg the land of eternal green and joy in gael mythology. A place of fairies and the frontair with the "Other world". Let's remember that Alcest started when Neige was 14 and he was obsessed with celtic myths and fairy tells. This song is a tribute to his childhood memories just like the whole album. Lovely piece of art.

Whenever I hear this song, I see in my mind two lovers who finally get together after a long time, after this, these two guys riding their horses in a big and green land.. when the guitar part begin, I imagine that the night has come and they're having a break in a forest, watching the night sky full of beautiful stars and then fall asleep while huggin' each other, then after the guitar part, there's the sunrise and them continuing their travel together. I feel very happy by thinking of this ahaha (sorry for my bad english, i just wanted to share my thoughts with you ^^ )

their newest release, Shelter, is basically a dream pop album. They've completely made the transition to a dream pop band. There is no longer a metal influence. I think you might like that album. And to be frank, Souvenirs d'un autre monde has very little metal in it, too. Like half the album is a straight-up shoegaze album. So if you haven't listened to its eternity yet, check out Souvenirs d'un autre monde. Which if I may add, is their best album to-date.

This is very new age-y, check out some new age music (e.g. Yanni, Vangelis, Enigma) if you like this although don't get too invested in their weird ideology, also has a Celtic flair so some traditional Celtic/Irish music might tickle your fancy

Patanol Tír na nÓg means "land of the young", it's from an old Irish story "Oisin i dTír na nÓg", where the character Oisin is brought by another character, Niamh, to Tir na nÓg to be Niamh's husband, it's a land of eternal youth where Oisin was promised endless supplies of cattle, sheep and warriors to command. It could be a metaphor for heaven, that's an interesting take I didn't take into account before

Masterpiece....so many emotions in this song. Lyrics English : With lifeless eyes, my life slowly fades away, Releasing an overflow of suffering, My body, weary from a painful past, Frozen by fear and death. I implore life to let my soul escape from this prison of lamentation and agony.
