There's nothing wrong with SLAP forum, imo. It's ok to be critical of something you don't like, Gifted Hater perfected this. 9 Club can be toxically positive at times and don't push back if a guest says something kooky on their show.
@Soldier_Sean
Жыл бұрын
'Toxicly positive' lol wtf is that? you sound just as woke as the majority of the kooks that post on slap. Slap is a cesspool of the skating community where you see the most mindless and programmed fools discussing non related things like homosexuality, d size, woke politics,etc. and looking for people and things to cancel. It's a woke mob leftist idiocracy echo chamber and very little productive discussion goes on there.

None of the Chase Webb, David Loy, and Nyjah posts were ever substantiated in any way. There was like one post nearly 20 years ago from a rando saying they raped a girl at a Sheckler house party. It was like 2-3 sentences and I’ve seen no allegations since. Chase getting kicked off Pizza was weird, I still think he’s like top 10 street skater skillwise. So far I haven’t seen any legitimate allegations but please correct me if I’m wrong.

I am onthe boards everyday, slap reminds me of the early /mid 90s where you wld get vibed hard esp being new. I am 43 and imo skaters have always been the biggest gatekeepers w the cool skate stuff. It's just the nature if the beast, that and it's the internet. I used to live on the boards and altho I go on everyday its just to check out any new stuff going on, just bc the boards can be informative and helpful, when you know how to use it.

Can you provide numbers analysis on how many personality vectors have to fall within the appropriate venn diagrams to be considered "punk"? slap was created to compete with transworld. transworld was selling lots of issues and thrasher was hesh and core so they wanted a street oriented magazine to undermine transworld sells. independent, also from the same circle of people, did the same when they created thunder and venture, made to undermine tracker and gullwing sales. both ideas worked by the way.

I think diversity and freedom of choice is key. To be able to watch/consume different styles of skate media is great in my opinion. It is how life is. There are so many people creating platforms within skateboarding, and me personally like to watch almost everything depending on what mood I am in. I mean I used to watch fucking dew tours back in like 06-08. Ryan Sheckler was murdering those competitions. But at the same time I like fancy lad, jenkem, quartersnacks, free skate mag, street league, tampa, gifted hater, dumb data and even the berrics. Yeah these sites/shows/forums have their ups and downs of course but u can click away anytime to watch something else. That’s why I don’t really care about the hate part of it… i actually kind of like the “hate” and shittalking within the skate community. It keeps it fresh and interesting.

I can report something about the "most online ever" case: A high "most online ever" number in online forums normally indicates only that there were many bots on the forum at this moment. The record is reached almost never by normal users. High numbers can be the reason for the owner to look closer at the IPs or user-agents of the users and perhaps he finds something he will block from the forum. Then the numbers drop down again. In general a high record number in comparision to the size of the forum is an indicate that the forum is not maintained well. The SLAP record of 1881 users online at the same time looks normal to me for a forum this size.
