no but really. the fact that she doesnt see that diet culture and the things she is promoting are huge enablers in people's EDs is so ignorant. unfortunately she just likes tp mock us for our lives being ruined by shit like this instead of having an open heart and listening to why it is so detrimental to speak like this. it's a real shame.

I hope you’re doing alright now! ❤️ Unfortunately there will always be people who don’t care that they’re triggering people, but at least you can recognise it’s not helpful and be selective with who you follow!

Agreed so much. Her programs have both started and further enabled EDs! So harmful.

I'm glad the comment you read pointed out her other titles. It shows a trend of the BB coach showing a blatant disregard for mental health and ableism.

Ohhhhh, stop getting triggered?! Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?! Let me get a Post-It and a pen so I can write that down! I can't believe I never tried THAT before! 🙄

What really bothers me about this approach to recruiting, it’s exactly the same behaviour we criticise men for when they’re relentless in their pursuit of speaking to or seeing a woman. As in, I say no you say why I say I don’t want you and then resort to insults, or berating or begging or pushing on your views of why it will be good for me. I know it’s one extreme to another they’re very different situations, but you can’t berate people for doing one thing and you do it yourself. What happened to consent x x hope that all makes sense! Enjoying your channel Charlotte x x

triggers can be a tough subject because of how personal they can be. i, for example, am really triggered when a meal is presented to me that has been fried in oil. that was one of my biggest fears in my eating disorder and, now, in recovery, that still brings me anxiety. is that rational? no. do i expect everyone to just not eat anything fried because i'm nervous around it? no lol. i dont want everyone in my life to not eat fried foods because maybe they like fried food, and who am i to tell them what they can and can't eat? but i do ask the people close to me to not speak to me about weight gain, diet culture, etc. changing your wording or just not talking about that in front of people in recovery doesn't affect you; it doesn't prevent you from doing anything that you want to do. it's that simple. it's the same as when you know someone who is recovering from alcoholism. it's common knowledge and the respectful thing to do to not drink around them unless you ask them and they feel safe and comfortable with that. so while some triggers are silly to others, there are well-known, very common triggers and /that/ is what others should be open to listening to. yes, triggers are your own responsibility, but it's also just fucking nice to be respectful of people's triggers when possible.

4:55 just like her to say who should and shouldn't get "triggered" by her book title. She creates workout programs called _9 Week Control Freak_ and probably also wonders why someone like *me* gets triggered by that title (and Beachbody workouts/diets in general) having bad connotations with diet culture. That's why I did a whole video react on that workout program. She is just getting way too defensive and rude towards how people are reacting to her titles and diet philosophies when she could just _try_ to have better titled products that aren't offensive but may still be marketable.

OMG that book title. The lack of respect towards people’s triggers and also the “other books are worse” - as if she was okay with being the best of a bad bunch 😂😂 Also, from a marketing perspective, why is she shitty with consumers for disliking the title of the book and not reading the blurb/synopsis because of it? Any marketer/business owner should know that titles, visuals and logos are important. A consumer’s first impression is so valuable. It’s not professional and it doesn’t make business sense to act like that towards your target audience...

Anyone who has studied marketing knows this because even the degree I did ten years ago covered dangerous stereotypes/messaging in marketing. The problem is that no one in ‘network marketing’ actually knows anything about marketing. Or having a job. Or having any idea how the real world works.

My mum has her own (legit) business and was approached by someone we didn't know who said she loved my mums instagram account and wanted to interview her (???). She said she had some difficulty deciding who her target audience was and by interviewing us she could find out more about what business owners are struggling with. News flash: if you say you have difficulty with problem X they suddenly have the answer for you! We said we could definitely help her with finding her target audience for X amount of money, but all if a sudden, she didn't need help anymore! Those "interviews" are very common. They use your answers to make themselves sound relatable and they always happen to have an answer and quick fix for you.

Thank you, so very much, for your comment about how someone with ED "hears" things. I have 100% heard - " You look healthy (better, great)" as "YOU. LOOK. FAT." And even though I'm considered "recovered," it is a constant battle to not fall back even though I am resolved to battle it successfully for the rest of my life. Having said that - the condescending tone to that "lecture" is what I really object to. Sure, I can say it's my own responsibility that I might get triggered b/c I've recovered enough to acknowledge that but talking to me as if I'm 5 years old and/or stupid? Please. That just angers me because you haven't lived my life and you don't know what I've been though or go through every day, at every single meal. So, yes, she can consider me triggered i and I'll consider her a non-entity in my life because I know she is uneducated and (moreso) unkind and I no longer have room in my life for people such as that.

I have a messed up relationship with food, am "underweight" and eat less than I should daily. Ultimate portion fix triggers me, eating clean triggers me, diet culture triggers me. My body image is weird and blurry, looking thin is not always healthy!
