All right. Well, uh, I was going to mention this, uh, and it's, it's a bit of bitching, but you should be, you guys should be used to that by now. So I mentioned at the top, uh, that, uh, Apple, uh, is good. I give us and it takes away. So one of the things that it has done, which is an amazing thing was starting the whole podcasting thing. Uh, it was called a podcast because Apple had a pod player so that you could play music and stuff recorded music and not, not very long after they came out with that, uh, you could also download free music, uh, to put on your, uh, your podcast player. You remember any of this? Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh, good Lord. What the hell was that called? Napster was it? Napster. Yeah. Yep. So that was, uh, that was a neat thing. Everybody loves free stuff and they certainly love, uh, free music. And that was going on hard and heavy, uh, way back when. So, um, the, uh, and then somebody came up with the idea of, uh, Hey, let's, uh, let's talk and record, and then you can download it to, to a podcast, a pod player. And that's how the name podcast came along. So I'm sorry. I said, okay. You'll trust me on this. Okay, good. So, uh, and, uh, and then shortly after that, there was more, more than one way to listen to a podcast. One of the Zune players, the Microsoft Zune, uh, Z-U-N-E was not a bad device at all. It just wasn't, um, a, uh, an Apple product. It didn't stick around very long. No, it didn't. Apple pretty much owned that market for a long time and some, some regard it still does. Well, yeah. And that's the part that I'm saying that Apple gives because, uh, Apple does give, they, they've given a lot of, uh, people a way of listening to podcasts. And I think that they're 70% of where podcasts are, uh, are, uh, subscribed to and consumed. And so recently I found out we we've seen about maybe around a 27% drop and downloads, uh, which is huge. And uh, that, uh, that 27% drop, but of course to me, it just means, uh, people have found us out. They, we suck and now they, they just realized it and they're going to, they're no longer listening, which is always the fear when you know, whenever you do something, uh, that nobody's going to like what you do. So anyway, uh, but I read that, uh, Apple has made a change. So on their, I guess it's on their player, uh, that allows you to download, uh, episodes as they come out. That way, uh, you don't have to stream them or download them. Maybe whenever you're in a bad spot or maybe you don't have access or maybe you're at work and you just can't access the cellular network. Uh, and, uh, they don't allow you to get on the company wifi. So now you can't, uh, you can set it up where it pre downloads it. So apparently, yeah, so apparently, and I don't know if you've noticed this or not, Larry, since you have an Apple. Um, but apparently recently, uh, Apple has made a programming change so that if you do not listen to the podcast for, uh, I don't know, for I guess several months or whatever, it turns that off for that podcast. So it will not automatically download the episodes for you. Yeah. I really don't notice that because I really don't have any episodes or any shows that I don't, uh, I'll say I don't consume very quickly. And you know, for me, the biggest thing is I fly a lot for work and I can listen to them all while I'm flying or doing whatever. And you know, like I said, I don't have any, any podcast, you know, that I, that I follow or subscribe to that I don't consume the, you know, each show very quickly. So for me, I don't know that I would ever see it. Right. Um, and, and I'm kind of trying to get the word out here, but I realize that if you're not listening to the podcast, you're probably not hearing this. I would say that's a safe bet.
I guess it's on the outside chance that you go, you know, I haven't listened to the Jeep talk show at a long time. Let me, uh, let me go see. Maybe they quit. Maybe they gave up, you know, in a wise way, they just, they just gave up and then they go and they go, wow, look at all these episodes. Where did they go? You know, and I'm sure that happens to some people, although I think Apple is, uh, is generally good about communicating, uh, to their, through their customers, what's going on. Um, it's just, uh, I don't know. Uh, it's, uh, I guess it's good because with the, the fewer downloads, um, you, you're getting a more accurate representation of who's listening to your show.
