This video covers the features of the electric leveling called the Auto Re-connect or Auto Hitch Height. This video clarifies when and how it should operate.
-Turn your touchpad on when you get to the campground. Raise the front end up. Unhook from the tow vehicle. Pull your tow vehicle out from under the fifth wheel, and press Auto Level.
-Remember to make sure that the front end of the fifth wheel is above level when you hit auto level. If it isn’t, the auto reconnect feature will be disabled.
-Your auto hitch feature may also be disabled when you go to use it if you auto level your trailer and then manually adjust the trailer to get the condensation or rainwater to drip in a slightly different direction. If your jacks sunk a bit and you re-level the trailer, this can also cause it to disable.
-If it says “Feature Disabled” don’t panic! This doesn’t mean that it is broken or not working. It just means that the controller did not like the position of the camper when you auto leveled. It does this for safety reasons to avoid crushing your tow vehicle, for example.
-When you are ready to go home from your camping trip, just scroll through your menu until you get to auto reconnect. Hit enter. This will bring your rear jacks up and raise the frontend up to where you unhooked from the tow vehicle.
Key Takeaways:
-Auto Hitch Height will be disabled if you didn’t start above level or if you adjusted the levels from when you hit auto level. The controller takes a picture of your hitch height when you hit auto level and that is where it returns when you hit auto reconnect or auto hitch height.
-If you haven’t done any of these things, you just go to your menu when you are ready to hook up after your camping trip.
-Go through your menu and stop when you get to the setting that says: “Auto Reconnect: Enter to begin.” Press enter. This will bring your rear jacks up and raise your front end up to the level you unhooked from. From here, you can back your tow vehicle underneath the trailer and reconnect.
-Remember to keep your front end above level when you start and don’t adjust.
