10 years ago I was in your situation. At the time I wished to change sector from IT to Marine Electrics and be self employed, living on a boat. Ridiculous, and impossible. Somehow by lots of luck and good fortune it all has materialized. Be open for opportunity and Go for it! Worst that can happen is becoming more miserable then you are now 🙂

Happy Birthday Rosie, may this year provide all that you require to be able to continue with your home projects and other needs. Do not be discouraged in things you have no control over. I’m 74 and a leak. That took years to recognize some things in life are not worth the energy or mental thoughts of self doubt. You are doing a fabulous job. Even the best gardeners have seeds that do not come up. Do not over water, gentle water and do the finger test … if the soul is dry below the first knuckle in your container then water but don’t drown the little pots. Some of you plants looked like they are read to put in your garden bed. Also after your first frost many seeds can be directly sewn into the ground. Good luck. If you have a charity shop in your town, look for a good used gardening book for veg and plants, they are a great reference.

Happy birthday🎉🎉! ...my birthday is on May 13th....and I discovered your channel a few hours ago. I'm just watching all the videos from the beginning. You're doing great. I recognize myself in many things. I built a campervan myself so I wanted to travel to Sweden to buy a house like you... but unfortunately I became seriously ill so I can't fulfill my dream. But I can now get a glimpse of what it could have been like through your videos. Thank you for that. I wish you all the best and good luck. Warm greetings from Germany, in the very south, near Lake Constance. (If you have any questions about vegetable gardens etc., I'll be happy to answer them...) Best regards, Mel

Happy birthday Rosie! Im hoping you'll make a Q&A at one point, I have a few questions :). 1. Do you have a car? I'm getting the feeling you don't, but maybe I'm wrong. If you do, is it expensive to have a car in Sweden?(taxes and all that). 2. What's the process to be a legal resident in Sweden? I mean, is it enough to own a property or you need to be registered with a job and things like that. Thank you!

Never mind sitting next to a romantic lake, start fishing!!! Should be trout in there at the very least. Ph test your soil I'm guessing it's prob too acid. First tip- fill beds with nitrogenous plants for a first crop to help the beds. A pretty thing is to mass plant lupins. They help. There is also a German method, forgot the name, of forest beds, where you simply chuck all forest matter, trunks branches whatever, into beds and top with dirt, have you any farmers near you who may bring you farm poo at all? I'm going to try the German method myself, I have a lot of tree waste as I back bush. It will take time to let poo rot down to where it won't burn seeds any more, but would be worth doing- used to supply my own beds with chook poo, the bonus was eggs, but chooks take a bit of caring for, worms, scale mite, predators etc

The lake looks fantastic and it gets hot in the summer it will be fab for swimming. They can be a bit peaty but that is ok. From your video you have so much wild food around you, blueberries, cranberries. Currans do well in this environment and so does raspberries, you can tap silver birch for the sap, it does not harm the tree if you close the opening with a peg. Good luck with the kitchen ☺️

A Happy belated Birthday Rosie! My apologies for the late sentiment but I've just recently binged watched a few of your vids to get up to date with your progress. Anywho, I'm all caught up now and the cabin is looking great...well done! One thing I wanted to point out was when you turn on the closed captioning when viewing this vid...during the scenes of rain, the subtitles come up as "" which I found funny at first but then thought to myself...it's fitting!...it's nature applauding your work and also reminding you to take time to pat yourself on the back and take time to rest. Take care and keep well.
