I wouldn't complain of being just over 1 moa at 700 yards. That was good shooting at those distances. I'm sure you could improve your accuracy with hand loads. I expect you could cut your group size in half with hand loads. I found that most factory ammo jumps 0.050" - 0.060“. If you hand load, a 0.005“ - 0.020" jump will most likely cut your groups in half. Thanks for sharing. You video really shows what the Bergara is capable of.

Michael Ruffner Range Finder...you can use the reticle, but a range finder is quicker and more accurate... I keep the reticle as a backup. As far as wind, I have a kestrel wind meter...but it only gives you wind at the gun....for downrange wind you simply have to learn to read the environment... Honestly wind is by far the most challenging aspect of long range shooting....

Noticed a lot of videos on the HMR series of rifles but question -- why is no one using a muzzle brake on their rifle? I know 308 is not a powerhouse round like 300 WM but I would think it'd help with accuracy.

@@curtducker8401 awesome !...I sell guns for living. If the weight of this rifle doesn't turn you away ...it is damn there one of the nicest out the box rifles based on the Remington 700, however with a much smoother action and better trigger than most Remingtons. For just under $1,000 it has been one that has stood out over many to me. If you just want long range target go 6.5 or .308 - should do what you need...if you want to hunt big game at long range go the 300 MAG , but realise without a muzzle brake she will jump and kick everytime..things like follow up shots (staying on target) and shooting several rounds a day will be pricey and may let you feel it in the morning.

MOA is a 5 round group not a 3 round group.
@7N6ballistics
6 жыл бұрын
Bradley Foss actually MOA is an angular measurement...it has nothing to do with the number of rounds in a group, or groups in general. For instance a mile is a unit of measure. I can express how far you walked in miles per wk, regardless of how many sessions of walking you did..it doesn't change the unit of measure. At any rate, 5 rd groups were fired, so I don't see how your statement is relevant in this case anyways...
@bradleyfoss4248
6 жыл бұрын
7N6 I understand it’s a unit of measurement but out of your 5 shot group you only measured 3 of the shots. For an actual MOA its the measurement of the farthest shots in the group and not the best three.
@7N6ballistics
6 жыл бұрын
Bradley Foss no, actually if you rewatch and listen more closely you will in fact notice I measured all 5 rds...Both 100 and 550 were in fact..sub moa per the unit of measure..in 1 instance I stated 3rds in .7", but that was simply confirming the elevation change for the GMM ammo..the previous group of 5rds measuring at .7" and all subsequent groups were measured using all 5rds... I did state at 700yds that 4 rds landed inside an MOA with 1 opening the group to just a bit over, but I stated exactly that. I also stated at 300yds that I made no wind corrections which accounts for the horizontal stringing....even with this the group was just a hair over an MOA..which I stated. One can reasonably assume that had wind corrections been made, given the lack of vertical dispersement, the 300yd grouping would also have been sub MOA. However, none of this really matters as to your previous statement of what comprises an MOA. That said, since I did in fact measure 5rds as stated..it meets your definition of MOA, albeit an incorrect one.
