I’ve watched this video multiple times. You gave your Uncle’s fig tree a great name. I love your story about that tree. I only have 2 Adriatics but if I ever get another I hope to get this one, if anything to help carry on the legacy of this tree. I love your videos, Lou.

Hey Mr. Lou. I’ve only got one Adriatic type. The Battaglia Green. Traded one of my LSU Scott’s Black for it. You seamed somewhat fond of it so I picked it up. Made two trees out of it, and waiting patiently now.

Love the video, Lou. I had my very first fig on September 2nd. Off my Olympian fig tree. Sadly, it had very little taste, but it's my first year growing my trees. So I know they will get better.

It does take a few years for fig quality to improve but also picking them to soon will bare almost no flavor. Gotta wait for the neck to soften significantly for best flavors

Don't worry, Stanley! The first fig seldom tastes as good as those that ripen later. Also, the figs will improve each season until the tree is at least three years old, maybe four. Regards! Lou Monti

Beautiful, I really love the honest information you provide to us Lou. It looks like col de dame blanc. How does the taste compare to ccdb as I heard they are similar tasting but I was wondering your opinion on that. Thank you in advance Lou! 🙂

Not similar taste but the color inside and out are very similar. Adriatic much sweeter and better to me

Hi there! I haven't grown that variety for nearly 20 years. It's certainly a tasty variety if its grown in the right zones. Personally, it wasn't suitable for growing in my particular zone, 7-A, and it wasn't fruitful or early enough to remain in my collection of favorite varieties. Too much work and effort for too little in return for my troubles! Regards from, Lou Monti

Way cool fig tree. Love my adriatic JH. First fig of the season on it just started swelling yesterday. If you have any interest in trading for honey from our farm for a couple cuttings let me know. We are in the mountains of east tennessee and have great honey. Andy, Highland Figs/Wild by Nature Family Farm

Im in Southern Utah Zone 8 and just getting started trying to grow figs, just bought my first one a Violette de B Bordeaux. How do you think the JH Adriatic would perform in our climate here?

Hi there! I would certainly give JH a try. If you have the available space, I would suggest Peter's Honey, Ronde De Bordeaux, Multa Black, Improved Celeste, Italian Honey, Desert King, and a good strain of original Celeste. Thanks for watching! Lou Monti

Thanks for the video. This tree is rather small for being 40 years old. Is it a dwarf variety?

Thanks for the video Lou; I obtained a few White Madeira cuttings from Croatia, I believe but although two of them rooted neither survived the winter unfortunately; what is your opinion of that variety? I believe it is an Adriatic fig. John in Victoria, BC

Looks like rust from the humidity. You should have a giveaway and share that tree. I'm guessing you shared with Mike or Big Bill and will it be for sale or passed on and not sold? Harry's crete is a good one and White Madeira cuttings are not that costly any more. I know you try to save us from wasting money and time but what is the learning worth? The sense of discovery and the pursuit is the adventure.
