Thats actually a really great life hack. A pipette full of denatured alcohol really works well. I know guys that use a wooden dowel and hot glue it to a dent in a car to pull it out. Then use denatured alcohol to separate the glue from the cars surface without damaging a thing.

Very nice. Thanks for the great ideas! I have a bunch of sewing machines, a quilt machine, an embroidery machine, a router, a modem, etc. Gotta clean up this mess! Another idea you may be able to use is this: get some museum putty. People use it to stick down vases and things on tables, so the kids and the cat don't knock everything over. You can stick things down on the desktop or shelf so they don't slide around. This also works in drawers to stick down your drawer dividers/organizers, so your drawers stay neat. Thanks buddy.

Yes, lots of cables. I have been sewing for many years, and have all kinds of machinery. And I have a ferret, who gets up on my desk, and knocks everything over. He actually climbs up the drawer unit underneath, and pops up thru the cable hole! So I have to keep him away from certain things, out of certain rooms, and make sure nothing is unsafe. It is a zoo around here.

Why does everyone say they have OCD????? Just because you like something clean and tidy doesn't mean you have OCD. My friend and my partners step father have real OCD. They are diagnosed OCD and have medication for it. They can't sleep if something isn't right or in their way. They can't move forward until it is fixed. If my partners step father saw this he wouldn't sleep for days. Because he can't do nothing about it and it plays on his mind. Stop with the OCD crap. Your Not OCD. Your just a tidy person who like cleanliness. That's all. Until you can't live or move forward in life and need to clean constantly and never stop meaning you can't work or do anything don't say you have OCD. Barny. This ain't to you by the way. It's to all the mugs in the comments who don't know the true meanings.

Barnacules, if you are still interested in attracting more subscribers--and if your time allows as a full-time employed person and dad--you might want to respond to some of the questions and comments you receive here at KZitem (not just at Twitter). Yes, I realize you have to put up with some crude, pointless, and even wholly incomprehensible remarks from overgrown adolescents. But there are a few sincere and serious queries as well, amidst all the nonsense. It's always impressive when video producers respond to their viewers' questions and concerns. (Apologies if you have already done so--I didn't read all 1,091 comments.) Thanks so much for the expert , entertaining, and informative video!

@sammyjc89

Did you watch the video? The whole point of this is so you DON'T damage stuff. That's his point. Duct Tape doesn't work well. It flexes and is only one sided meaning you need to food it over which is just fiddly and causes hang. Barnies point is that hot glue is not damaging in any point of use when done correctly and that it is clean and strong. And it's good to the environment too compared to other glues. And double sided tape sucks. Like he said "it leave sticky residue behind, which is hard to get off".
IvsChrisGaming I never look under my desk where the duct tape and all my cable management is.

I"m too lazy to read the comments to see if this has already been suggested but upside down computer duster used a freeze spray is the antidote to hot glue. Slowly drip it out on the hot glue will cool it to -40F and it pops right off. Works much faster than heating and leaves no residue.

Old video, but I'm commenting anyways! I'm not so afraid of putting holes in my desk, so I used what I had handy: nail in cable clips. Not so easy as the drywall they're intended to go into, but by predrilling with a slightly undersized drill bit, they went in fine and hold strong. I also drilled through the desk to run my keyboard/mouse cables, and used my fair share of zip ties.
