Hi David, thanks for your support and question. In the UK, our products including the B16 neck shim, are distributed through the company Allparts UK. We suggest checking with your favorite local dealer, and if they don't have it in stock they should be able to order it for you. Hopefully this helps; please let us know if you have any other questions we may be able to assist with.

Thanks! We'll put that on the list of possible videos for the future! In the meantime, searching 'Bigsby lesson' comes up with some great videos from Darrel Higham and GuitarInstructor. Thanks again!

Thanks for your comment and question. If you are building a Tele from scratch, the installation options do indeed multiply. You could certainly choose to create the neck pocket in such a way as to not need the shim, or recess the B16 into the body, or use a different style of bridge. This video simply demonstrates the method put forth originally by Paul Bigsby in the early 1950s. Please let us know if you have any other questions we may be able to assist with.

Hello Adam, I bought this b16, thats awesome, but I was wondering, if i have to adjust the eight and pitch of the neck, or I can buy just other bridge like Roller one ? I didnt want to put the aluminium piece between the beck and the body

Hi, thanks for your question. Depending on which bridge you choose, the neck shim may not be necessary. It will all depend on the height (which is partially determined by the pickup mount in the front of the B16). If the bridge you choose creates a sufficient break angle to keep the strings in their saddle slots and reasonable action, you won't have to place a shim (aluminum or wood) in the pocket. Hopefully this information helps; please let us know if you have any other questions we may be able to assist with. Thanks for your support!

Hello Eric, you certainly can use a Schaller roller bridge with the B16 if you prefer. Depending on the height and type of mount of the bridge you choose, it may be necessary to adjust the height and pitch of the neck. Hopefully this helps; please let us know if you have any other questions we may be able to assist with.

Fantastic video. It'll help immensely when I get mine in. I do have a question though. I'm having a carved top hollow body Tele built for me. It'll have tv jones humbuckers in it instead of the normal Tele pickups. What style of bridge should I have installed and what Bigsby would you recommend?

+TheSuperVintendo Thanks for your question; its a tough one to answer online as there are many factors and variables. The best advice we can give is to consult with the luthier who is building the guitar for you. The B16 wouldn't be suggested as your guitar will have a carved top nor the B5 as its hollow (possibly if there is bracing and the contour can be matched on the bottom). Sorry we can't be of more assistance, but there are just too many variables to give a definitive answer online.

Gotten hold of a B16 but without the 1953 shim. Anyone know where I can source just the shim in the UK please? Thanks.

Hi whatsup. I was wondering if i were to buy this exact model, if the neck thing is really necessary, and if so, why does it not come in the package?

loganciappa94 Thanks for your questions and support. The neck shim used in this video isn't 100% necessary; it depends on a few factors including which bridge you decide to use. Concerning the new saddle, we suggest checking with your favorite shop, as most stores have access to our full line--including the saddle compensated for a plain third. Hopefully this helps; please let us know if you have any other questions we may be able to help answer. Thanks for your support!

Hi, do you know if this kit will work on a Jim Adkins Tele?
@bigsbyguitars

Hi Rob, thanks for your question. As the Jim Adkins Tele comes stock with a P90 pickup in the bridge, the B16 vibrato is not suggested. However, you could certainly install our B5. Hopefully this information helps. If there is anything else we may be able to assist with, please let us know. Thanks for your support!

Ideally, wouldn't it be better, if you were building a Tele form scratch to build the neck heal taller to avoid having to use the shim? And also to avoid having a very un-Tele neck angle, i would think Tele players wouldn't want a neck angled like standard installation would provide...
