BOC is the most talented American rock band bar none. Buck is the best American guitarist. They (the original line up with the Bouchard brothers) could more than hold their own against anyone. Certainly the most unique band and they excelled at any type of rock n roll they recorded. Never really made a bad album. Should be in the R&RHOF because they are totally what rock n roll is about.

A close listen reveals that this song is about a man who is bitten by a female vampire and turned into one: "Her kiss that night told me it was over" (his life), "One look in the mirror told me so" (he couldn't see his reflection, a sure sign that he's a vampire).

cliff tucker, the way I read it was that another lover told him that their relationship was over, and while out grieving that, the lady in white came to him and started the initiation/seduction into the vampire way (you can't really call it "life" ;-) While he was with her he looked in the mirror and the lady in white had no reflection. This version is notable in that it has the extra verse not shown on the BÖC website that includes "my vision knows no walls". It's a pleasurable shock to hear an old familiar song with a wonderful "new" add-in! Just saw BÖC a couple of months ago in Paso Robles, despite it being 'just' a county fair the staging and sound were very very good and the show quite enjoyable. "Missing" verse (Albert was quoted that they made Buck leave it off the studio album): Now I never rise until the sun falls And my vision knows no walls And I'm looking for ladies walking alone They regret the day when they hear me say...

Absolutely one of the top talents ever in music, Rock or otherwise, Donald Roeser (Buck Dharma) is shamefully under appreciated, as is B.O.C as a whole. But Buck's excellent composing, outstanding vocals and unequalled guitar mastery makes the lack of recognition so egregious, especially considering he's been performing professionally for 50 YEARS! What a travesty.

Six shows live in two states for me and I've never seen this song played. What kills me is I missed this show and 4th and B is in my freaking home town. A friend who goes to a lot of BOC shows with me complains we can never hear many of their songs live because they are addicted to turning EVERY song performed live into a ten to twenty minute "jam" so at the end of the show you've only heard ten songs or less. Kinda true. Anyway, great song and my wife's favourite BOC tune. Vampires.
