Could you try to explain the falling step of Jack Dempsey? Many people tried to demonstrate it on youtube and it seems that they all failed. Jack Dempsey describes it in his book ”Championship fighting” and argues that it's the best possible way to throw a lead punch. In this context, he criticizes harsly the common jab. Therefore, it could make for a very interesting analysis (if done by an expert like you). Dempsey's version seems to be a hard punch (harder than a normal stepping jab), but also one that exposes the fighter a lot. Dempsey says he transfers his weight on the lead foot, then he raises the foot of the ground, which makes him fall forward. I think he punches as he falls, but the details of how he raises the foot (with most of the body weight on it) and of the moment he punches aren't 100% clear to me (and to many people, I think). Also, Dempsey executes it with his fist landing thumb up, trying to hit the target with the last three knuckles (primarily with the knucle of the ring finger). You can find the book on the internet. The falling step is explained at pages 14 - 16.

Solar plexus shots are always good learned about that back in my early years of Karate. One spot that is actually illegal in MMA but legal in boxing is the collarbone. Takes very little to break the collarbone or at minimum dislocate or injure it. And once that happens you're done you can't throw punches as effectively. A solid straight to the collarbone he's going to feel it or it'll end the fight. Trust the shoulder shrug that usually follows and hands dropping.

On the 1-2-1 for the shorter guy closing distance, a great variation of it is using diagonal footwork with it. The diagonal footwork forces your head to bob from side to side as you're throwing the combo. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't think I've seen you teach diagonals Tony.

great outstanding boxing lessons and tips. Thank You very very much! I need to try them against bullying rushing forward smaller pressure fighters, unfortunately I usually got completely lost when they have cut the distance and let them bomb me with short strong hits. I am just an amateur, many years of thaiboxing, trying always to keep people away with feet, but sometimes in english boxing sparing good boxers, obviously you have someone rushing like a bull and its kind a stupid I was letting myself as You said blocked and get bombed... So I need to move a lot, use my long straight punches to keep distance, hit hard which I believed was not a good idea imagining that the pressure will be even bigger, but I understand its to make him respect me and finally aim for the body shots.

My Dad R.I.P. was a "southpaw", intern I'm "only" right handed because I think it's from going to public schools because that's how they teach you, but I am able to be ambidextrous in the ring, meaning by way of crosses and feet positioning, I usually do not jab when I switch up on you to a sopaw "feet" stance unless I'm just messing with your head. I am 6'1 and weigh a 170. I like to start rounds dingding and come out in my sopaw style, leading right foot shoulders up my elbows tucked in and the gloves high and tight right underneath my eyes moving with my head setting up a counter by faking the left and launching a right uppercut then a cocked & loaded sopaw hook to the side of the body. I've boxed fighters bigger than me that said, I know how you kept hitting me it's because you are left handed. funny thing is that I ended that fight with a right.
