I'm starting to buy into HMK's theory. The scenes depicting Link with the pristine Master Sword could take place 100 years prior to the ruined Hyrule. Perhaps throughout the game, we see flashbacks or perhaps even relive the events leading up to Hyrule's destruction as we discover what happened.

I love watching outdated BOTW videos! There's something unintentionally hilarious about Zeltik attributing all of the Hylian and Sheikah structures to 'primitives', seeing as they are arguably the most developed of any group in Hyrule at the time. Arguing that the Rito are not Rito, that the Master Sword will be repaired, that the game could have seasons, etc. It's crazy to think how little we knew then, and how little we may know about Tears of the Kingdom now. No disrespect to Zeltik of course, it was a great analysis for the information that was given.

Zeltik, as others pointed out, the scene in your video at 2:37, features possibly simply 2 NPC's and not Link. Which is fantastic in my opinion! The NPC's are trying to surive and they fight the enemies! Its an astonishing step forward for the series. Gives a whole new meaning to the NPC's in the game.

Great analysis, man! Yours and HMK's were fantastic. One thing he brought up about the scene with Link and presumably Zelda, is that it could've been from 100 years prior, while the shot of (possibly) Zelda walking forward with The Sheikah Slate in hand could be from the present. Now then, one thing I have to personally get into, is after seeing both of these new Breath of the Wild vidyas Nintendo put out, I think that birdman bard named Kass looks to be the designated "helper" for the game... Even though they apparently said you wouldn't have one like usual. He seems like he'll be the unconventional version of it. Especially given that his race is seemingly integral to the overall story, yet he's not villainous like the one who appears and shoots upwards to the Sheikah airship under evil influence. Kass just seems to be one of the main NPCs in this game no matter what. Especially with how they addressed him in that video, talking about him, as if he appears a lot. And yet in-game, Kass gave hints for where to go. Which, is token Zelda helper role thing. Except he does his hints by song. So, it looks like he's kind of taking a token helper role but toned down like Sheik did as opposed to Navi. I think Kass is gonna be like a mix between Kaepora Gaebora and Sheik in terms of how he's utilized throughout the game. Even if we're not getting a typical Zelda-like guide like usual, Kass might be a lax version of a guide, who pops around to give ya hints on where to go like he did with a song. Which seems to be his thing, just by seeing the one look of him doing it. That's kinda lookin' like the direction. Ain't like it'd be hard for him to get around and do it, after all. Now then, I originally thought the bird people might've been related to the Rito in some way, but now I'm inclined to believe the bird people are evolved Loftwings, because if you look at their color scheme, they resemble the color scheme of various Loftwings. I know how races can DRASTICALLY change appearances sometimes (just look at that Moblin in that same video Kass showed up in for instance) so that made me wonder if he might be one/the interpretation of them on this. Since people (myself included) wondered what happened to Loftwings, and given the fact Skyward Sword was a prequel (and the start of the series as we know it), yet the Loftwings kinda don't have...any "successor" or evolved form, per se, it was something a lot of people were talking about a year or two ago to be delved into on this game. The more I look at Kass (and the evil one, too), the more I think that might be the case now. I do have an interesting side theory though, and that's that the evil birdman (and possibly Kass, too) could be Fokkā/Fokkeru from Zelda II. The evil one in particular looks A LOT like a redesigned version of those two especially. And, I guess in a roundabout way, they could go ahead and make them the race that evolved from Loftwings, possibly. This game is already openly harkening back to the first Zelda, so it makes me think it's not impossible for them to look at Zelda II and take a little from that and expand upon and repurpose if need be.

Judging by the blue tunic and lack of the sheika slate it's pretty clear that scenes with that attire take place as backstory. The girl in both shots is probably Zelda at different times. White glove shot is when she was a princess, before the fall of hyrule castle to the calamity Gannon. Link is sitting on the ground, hands on his knees, with head cast downward in tiredness and defeat. But it is the fist of Zelda showing her lingering resolve that they must find a way to defeat Gannon. Then comes the plan to put link into suspended animation until a time when they can have a chance to defeat Gannon. Just before Zelda goes into exile she dons non-regal clothing (the blue outfit) and gets ready to use the sheika slate she holds in her hands to put link into suspended animation in a remote cave on an isolated plateau. The slate is left behind for link to use in his quest. Zeldas voice is either left as a wake up call to link, or Zelda was also put in suspended animation somewhere else and is mentally calling to link through the slate. One part of the quest will be finding Zelda in one of the shrines and waking her up. Together they will take on Gannon.

The scene with the calamity Ganon destroying the area around the castle could either be a late-game scene when the seal on the castle breaks, or an early-game scene showing the event that destroyed Hyrule. This and the intact castle scenery in the background of the final scene may suggest that an early part of the game takes place before the downfall of Hyrule.

Thanks for doing a quick job! Nevertheless, I would like to point out that the female character we see at the end are actually 2 different people. At first it would seem they are the same by the color of their dress, but if you look closely, the second one does not have the pouch, and is wearing a different dress if you pay attention to the portion on the hands. I liked the theory of the Time Travel mechanic, so perhaps when Link is glowing he is being sent back in time to relive something in particular?

I think you are overlooking a really big and likely possiblity with the master sword scenes. namely that they aren't said into the "future" of the game's start, but into the past. Link is a hero that has "shone his light on hyrule" once before according to the female voice on the plateau. This implies he already was in the position of a hero once before. Link also feels th slate is familiar to him according to its "flavor text" in the menu during the demo, yet Link does not remember what happened in the past. Having (possibly playable ?) flashbacks telling us his past and what happened 100 years ago will be almost mandatory to have the player and Link learn of what has transpired. And these ctuscenes with the Master Sword could easily be flashbacks into Link being a champion of the royal family during the start of the cataclism. Also note that the bird ship shines blue in the cutscene where the bow-bird flies up to it. it is only later on in the zoomed in shot that it shines pinkish red.

So, here's my theory on Zelda: I think Zelda might become Link's partner at some point in Breath of the Wild. We've already seen that Link can have partners because of the guy in the trailer and Wolf Link, so having a story-based partner makes sense. The clothes she's wearing in her first shot look very similar to Link's clothes. I think that means that it's her starting gear equivalent to Link's blue tunic. Also, why would Nintendo want to hide the game's namesake so much unless there was something really important about her to the game? I may be stretching a bit, but I just think it would be really cool to have Zelda and Link questing together. We've had some cool Zeldas before, but having her be such an integral part of the quest could make her the best one yet.

Hey-o, Zeltik! Love following your vids! Not sure if anyone's commented about this, but I believe that the guy you're referring to at 2:24 as Link is actually just another NPC. They trailer transitions from the cave paintings of the "primitives" then goes to show you what the villagers do whilst inhabiting this Hyrule. They fish, they fight, they... village! (If you take a look at the guy at 2:24, he looks much more "generic" than Link does. His hair part is different, and he's got the same pack on that the fisherman from the previous scene did.) I think this video was meant to show us more about the world of Hyrule in this game, particularly at the beginning, rather than focus on story (big hint, for me, is the title of the video "Life in the Ruins"). The first shot we truly get of Link is with the bird-man, leaving the first half of the trailer specifically focusing on the inhabitants, sans-main characters. These are their daily routines without any interaction with Link.

I wanted to point out two things. The birdmen look more like Fokka than Rito, and the giant horse head could just be a marker. First I do believe that the bird man flying away from Link and Kass are possibly members of the Rito tribe, as you suggest, especially since there are Koroks in this game as we have seen earlier. Both tribes show up in the Wind Waker and play massive roles in the story. Also, as you pointed out, they appear in Twilight Princess HD and we both know that Aonuma said there were secrets in the HD version. BUT the birdmen with their talons and far more birdlike forms look more like the Fokka from Zelda II. Think about it. This game is also really reminiscent of the original Zelda. Second point. The giant horse head could just be a marker/sign for the people of the area. Just like not so long ago and even today, using large symbols is an easy way to let people know exactly what your business is about. It may not be that they simply revere the horse and so created a makeshift statue of it. This kind of advertisement is not new in the Zelda world.

In fact, the birdman seems to be a kind of "Fokka", like one of the ennemies you encounter in the Great Palace of Zelda II : The Adventure of Link. Look at the artwork, it's pretty similar.

The people in the parchment are definitely Sheikah look at the facial structure size and stance it looks just like the Monks found in the dungeons and the parchment suggests to me that they were born from a tear shed by a divine being most likely Hylia and The Birdman could possibly be a redesign of an Oocca (or their forms prior to their evolution in twlight princess) i mean we already have the city in the sky (Skyloft) and where else would a skyship come from? The Hyrule Historia states that the humans that remained citizens of the Sky (Skyloft) eventually evolved into Oocca, whereas those who moved to the surface world did not. There is also this statement by Shad At the moment I'm absolutely entranced by the sky beings known as the Oocca. Yes, according to legend, Hyrule was made by the Hylians, who, as we all know, are the closest race to the gods. But also according to legend, long ago there was a race even closer to the gods, and some say these creatures made the Hylians. When they created the people of Hylia, they simultaneously created a new capital, a city that floated in the heavens. They dwelt there...and some scholars believe that this race lives there still, somewhere in the great sky

I think that last scene of the trailer in which Link has the master sword and who we presume is Zelda is a Flashback from 100 years ago. Meaning that scene takes place before if is killed/sealed away in the Resurrection chamber. The master sword was used in the effort to seal away Ganon and was set to rest after Link was Killed, giving precedence to the Aged Master sword imagery.

The Kengeki Goombah right? My only issue is that it's movement and size point more to it being a ship rather than a being. However, the pink, possibly calamity Ganon caused glow is found around it. I think Bird Person will be our ride up to it, and it'll be one one of the traditional dungeons.

I think the trailer actually shows two different time periods, one pre calamity Ganon and one post, hence the untarnished Master Sword, no obviously broken stonework (which seems to be relatively common in the other footage we've seen). All the nods from other games such as the Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time, the Twilight Princess esque fountain, the Koroks (and maybe Rito?) from Wind Waker makes me think they're converging the timeline to simplify it going forward.

***** No, it's neither. It's a completely new Link. Also, I said PRIOR TO Twilight Princess. Anything any of us come up with is complete speculation, as until Nintendo themselves say when in the timeline it's set, we have no real proof for anything. The only reason the timeline even exists is because fans demanded one. The games where it isn't the same Link as a previous one were originally meant to just be reboots, in the same way as Square's Final Fantasy series.

Fokkas are enemies from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. They were never given an official name in the English localization of the game, and are frequently called "Bird Knights", "Eagle Knights", or "Dreadhawks" by fans. They come in both red and blue varieties, with the blue ones being slightly stronger than the red variation. They can be found in the Great Palace.

I was thinking about that earlier. There is a youtuber by the name of HMK who theorized that breath of the wild took place before the timeline split. Having his theory in mind I think after the residents of skyloft returned to hyrule the loftwings had taken what the learned and perhaps evolved. I think that's how they learned about weapons and other stuff, and then they began to make their own culture.

The two female characters doesn't seems like the same one. The first one has an adventure pouch at her waist, wears a leather glove and a blue tunic similar to Link's. The second one, presumable Zelda, wears a silk glove, and has a blue dress (not sure if it's a tunic) with a dangling similar to traditional Zelda's design.

Great analysis, one mystery i want to know is the fate of the sheikah, either they are among the surviving members with the hylians, which needs tons of answers on how they reappear, or why they are missing or dying out yet their technology is all over the place. The sheikah will play a major roll in the game and I'm anxious to find out about them. Also one thing that caught my attention other than the mystery of the sheikah was the music. It had so much impact for me. I loved it and can't wait for the soundtrack.
