well done andy, not just for sunday, but for navigating everything you've had to deal with in this block, staying positive when it would have been easier to buckle and showing restraint when a younger you would have battled through and made things worse. i'm sure all the emotions of last year will have been bubbling at the back of your mind so well done for dealing with that too. onwards and upwards.

It may be a great event but if I were thinking of running a marathon and running a fast time - which at my age I certainly ain't! - I wouldn't choose to run London. Far too crowded, you correctly said that you couldn't run freely for the first sevral miles. As an athletics fan, overall a great women's race, by the highest world standards a fairly average men's competiton.

Well done Andy! Marathons are so hard. I am happy that you got a PB though on the course. It looked kind of warm though. I've run a bunch of marathons in my career (27) and only 1 or 2 really went well. Even watching other content creators -- they can have the best training block ever -- and on race day it just doesn't happen. Sort of one reason why I don't run them anymore. You are definitely headed in the right direction with your training and given how difficult this training block has been, you have every right to say this was a success. As always, thanks for the inspiration to train and race hard. Keep it up. Do you have another marathon planned for this year?

Well done Andy, a great result considering your training challenges. The wall hit me hard at 18 miles and it became a challenge thereafter. Finished my first ever marathon aged 61 in 5:20:40, it I take of all the loo breaks resulting from all the gels, water and sports drinks (and age) I just crept in under 5 hours. As the medal was going over my shoulders I said never again, however as I type this and the aching pain in my legs reduces I suspect I will apply to put myself through it again next year , if successful in the ballot?

Good race Andy..the dreaded wall can hit at any point of the race and it comes in many different ways..main thing is you climb over it and push on..too noisy and crowded for me so I stay away from cities..fortunately there are lots of races where you can do your own thing..other than looking the shoes people are wearing or admiring some of the scenery ,I tune into my music and tuning into the engine and road feel of racing..after a lifetime of racing cars and motorcycles I run races the same way,by the seat of my pants feel..you did what you have to and be proud with what you accomplished..congrats 😊

Been looking forward to this Andy... whoop whoop. whilst I love London M, Its crazy how utterly rammed it is and really not conducive to a peaceful run where you get lost in your own head. haven't done it for over 25 years and I don't remember it being so dam noisy and rammed as it is today. I think I will stick to the quieter ones, bad tinnitus can make the head pound. Although would love to run across Tower Bridge again. Well done Budd, great result even after the Illness affecting the training, imagine what would be possible if fit all the way through and all the people were not in the way LOL. Well done Budd, my fave running channel and your pretty cool as well hehehehe... ps my 3 weeks of covid crap is almost coming to an end, remnenats of a chest infection, and still hrv is off the scale but I'm back out on the roads, the gym kept me sane for past 3 weeks.

For a long while there you were running like a metronome Andy, and as soon as I wrote that to Tim Grosse (we chatted a little during), bang you dropped off so I think I jinxed you!! I wondered if you had thrown up actually!! My last Paris marathon last year was so horribly bad for "traffic", I wasn't at all inspired to to it again this year... we were even reduced to walking 2km before the end because of the crowd impinging so much on the road!! In my mind anyone taking part and unnecessarily running should be barred from future nhs treatment this is because you are damaging your load bearing joints without a thought of the more urgent cases who may not have deliberately damaged their body's people who run only prematurely age themselves and go bald in no time at all as for the charity's they should stop handing themselves vast sums and instead put shops back to volunteer basis and stop the fiddling
