Well shoot. That’s not really what I had hoped for (although I actually really like this video, so be nice to me 😅). So let me provide you with some context that I would have provided in the video, if my mic had been connected!
I have been staring at this stash of fabric since my Grandmother-in-law let me shop her stash last summer (you can check out my haul video here: • Free Fabric Haul - Rev... ).
I decided that I would attempt to bust two of these wool suiting fabric stashes this weekend. I didn’t really have a plan, but I did have a few free Mood patterns lined up. And I knew I wanted to try to make a skirt out of both fabrics.
For the skirt pattern, I basically just duplicated the pattern of a skirt I already owned, and made it longer. Once I finished the first wool skirt, I went to do the second one, and found that…I guess that since the fabric was heavier, and stiffer, and draped a little differently, the skirt ended up being too small. So, quick pivot - I just turned it into a cape!
I am thinking about adding arm holes to the two front panels of the cape. I think that would make it much more of an everyday wearable, and just be tres chic, no? Let me know what you think!
After I cut out the pattern pieces for the skirts (or skirt and cape, rather), I was able to see what I have left, and decided to go with a matching waistcoat. I ended up using the free Janet Cosplay vest pattern from Mood, but I cropped it at the waist, just as personal preference.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with what I was able to accomplish in just 2 days. And even editing this video, which obviously is not what I intended, turned out perfectly good. Maybe not 10/10 all around, but I’m perfectly satisfied. And if you had as much satisfied as me, it would mean the world to me if you would like and subscribe. And if you, do I’ll see you in 2 weeks for my next video (with my mic on). Take care!

Hey, it's me, Hannah.
Hi. Voiceover Hannah here. Video Hannah forgot to turn on her mic’s receiver so I'll be taking over for some smooth jazz.
Smooth jazz.
Let me encourage you to pour a cup of tea or glass of wine or whatever you like to sip on and let you sit back and enjoy some moody video footage of my stash busting project from this past weekend.
For all your context needs, please visit the video description down below. This has been voiceover Hannah.
Smoooooth jazz.
Hey, it's me. Voiceover Hannah again. This might surprise you, but this is not the video I set out to make. But I'm not mad. My oopsie daisy let me try out a new version of storytelling. So if you liked it, or if you didn't like it, let me know. I had fun making this video and sewing these clothing items and busting that stash.
And if you had as much fun as I did, it would mean the world to me, if you would like and subscribe. And if you do, I'll see you in two weeks for my next video. Take care.
