The time has come to add another report from a certain early autumn trip to the Gorce Mountains. In December I'm off to rest on the other side of the world also it's possible that this is the last film this year. Without elaborating too much, I invite you to the screening!
The day was cloudy, with rainy forecasts. I took an emergency cape, packed my backpack and headed for the mountains. The goal of my hike was one of the Gorce glades, overgrown with junipers. A scenic place, perfect for spending the weekend.
After arriving at the previously planned bivouac site, I began laying out the tarp. Due to the rainy forecast for the evening, I laid out the tarp in the manner of a tent. I spread the walls wide to gain more space under the canopy.
A glass of wine and it was time to move on.
In a nearby grove I gathered a considerable amount of dry and calorific wood. For lunch and dinner I planned to cook a stew with plenty of vegetables and sausage. The area was abundant with mushrooms, which turned out to be a delicious addition to the planned dish.
I began lighting a fire. I used resin wood and dry larch branches as kindling. A few sparks from the flint allowed me to quickly tackle the task. After lighting the fire, I prepared the grate and began the long process of cooking the stew.
I cooked the stew for about 2 hours, adding small amounts of water.
After dark, I lit an oil lamp.
The dish ready, it was time for a well-deserved meal, relaxation and sleep.
At night the rain came, but thanks to the proper preparation of the camp, the comfort of sleep was very high. Only due to the nearby roar of deer I was forced to put earplugs in my ears.
The morning was sunny, but very windy. I decided to sleep longer, which meant there was not enough time to light a fire and prepare beans and tea for breakfast. Rio Mare canned tuna and couscous came in handy. I ate my breakfast with relish, packed up the camp, cleaned up the traces of the campfire and headed back.
To was a very successful camping trip!
