I could listen to his George Jessel impression all day.

What an era... Looked so fun then... Yet keep in mind the Vietnam War was beginning at this time... Still, a wonderful moment in time captured for us all to enjoy...well, 1,196 views...

Best version of “Tom Dooley” I’ve ever heard. Looks like the New York studio.

"The Big Mouth" was a good movie. Hard to find online, though. It should be on Netflix or Amazon some day.

charlie callas sounds like Tony Curtis doing Cary Grant when Curtis played in the movie Some Like it Hot.

I am of the thinking that Mr. Lewis had color copies of all of his appearances on the "Tonight" show. His family probably threw away the boxes or donated them to "Goodwill." Someone out there has the originals.

It’s the Tonight Show! Ed McMahon was always there. Jerry Lewis is guest hosting for Johnny Carson who is either out for the night or on vacation.

burteriksson dude take your feelings out of it. I never said that today was better I said callas was shit. Him and Ray J Johnson were one in the same, that style does have life that’s why it’s stuck where it was. Real comics like Pryor, Carlin, Rickles, etc are timeless and translate to anytime

@@tyrant_tarantula To say he had not talent or was shit is a bit brutal. Perhaps not you your liking and to me limited in scope (especially on TV), but you don't spend decades in the business working continually with no talent, and he did work continually. He was a highly respected drummer as well, opened for Sinatra often and headlined in Vegas and other similar venues throughout the US. If you can't sell tickets you do not work, he worked.

Jerry Lewis was so outclassed, he couldn't stand it. Charlie was stellar.
