Every year in November, thousands of Christmas lights are lit in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. It is Liseberg Amusement Park that is putting on a Christmas fairy tale for its guests! Both children and adults are in a hurry to see!
By the way, Liseberg is one of the largest and most frequently visited amusement parks not only in Sweden but also in Europe. And in 2005, Forbes magazine included Liseberg in the top 10 best amusement parks in the world.
The park area is about 25 hectares and contains attractions, shops, restaurants, cafes, concert venues, and picnic areas. For 100 years now, this has been a favorite vacation spot for both city residents and tourists! The park celebrates its anniversary in 2023!
There are several types of tickets. Having purchased an entrance ticket, you can simply walk around the park enjoying the atmosphere of the Christmas season (Jul i Lisebergsparken). Or you can do as we did and choose the All in One bracelet (Alt i Ett). This will allow you to walk around the park and ride without restrictions on all the attractions open during the winter season.
And the rides in Liseberg Park are simply magnificent! For example, the Balder roller coaster was recognized as the best wooden coaster in the world in 2003 and 2005!!! From the panoramic wheel "Lisebergshjulet" with a height of 60 meters, wonderful views of the park and the city open up.
Walking through the park, we looked into Santa Claus's house, or as it is called in Sweden - Tomtefar, and, of course, wrote our list of Christmas gifts to him in a letter! And he waved his hand at us in response. Let's hope we behaved well enough this year :)
There is also a chocolate lottery in the park, you bet on selected numbers and can win a huge chocolate bar. This time we were unlucky, but we will come back to try our luck again!
There are small and cozy Christmas market stalls throughout the park. Here you can buy gifts or souvenirs, as well as try something delicious!
Next to the park's stage, where concerts are held in the summer, there is a skating rink with lights and music, it looks very bright from the panoramic wheel! Knowing in advance that there would be a skating rink in Liseberg, we took skates with us! We recommend it to you too!
The symbol of the park is a family of green rabbits and in 2020 it became possible to go underground to their magical land on the "Underlandet" attraction. The brightness and positivity there are off the charts!
The park can be seen from afar thanks to the improvised Christmas tree 125 meters high! We have passed the festively decorated Liseberg Park many times on the highway on our way to Copenhagen and Tivoli Park, where we go every year. By the way, a video of our walk-in Tivoli Park can be seen here:
• Christmas in Copenhage...
And this year we decided to take a walk through the streets of Liseberg Park and were very pleasantly surprised by the variety of attractions and the positive attitude of the park workers dressed as fairy-tale elves!
We hope that with this video we will be able to convey to you the atmosphere of Christmas and magic, which is so lacking in everyday life.
