Better than the real thing, these breadsticks are buttery and loaded with delicious herb and cheese topping. The batch makes four breadsticks.

Recipe:
3/4 cup warm milk (105-115 degrees F).
1 Tbsp sugar
1 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups all purpose flour
1 Tbsp butter, melted
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder.
In a bowl, combine milk, sugar and yeast. Cover and let sit until bubbly.
In a bowl ( I used a stand mixer) Combine flour and salt. Pour in yeast mixture and mix until combined. Knead for 3-4 minutes. (this can also be done by hand)
Form dough into a ball and let it sit on a lightly floured surface covered with a towel for 10 minutes.
Brush the bottom of a 9 x 5" pan (can also use a 8 x 8 inch pan) with half of the melted butter.
Form the dough into a rectangle the size of the pan and place into the pan. If the dough springs back let it sit for a few more minutes.
Score the dough using a pizza cutter, a knife or a bench scraper to for four evenly sized breadsticks.
Cover with a towel and allow to rise 30-45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a small bowl combine cheese and seasonings.
Brush dough with remaining melted butter.
Sprinkle with seasonings.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Remove and cool for 10 minutes and cut through the breadsticks again on the same cutting lines.
Serve with dipping sauce.
Dipping Sauce:
1 small can (8 oz) of tomato sauce
2 Tbsp tomato paste.
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp basil
1/4 tsp garlic powder.
Combine in a small sauce pan and heat over medium low heat.
