Thanx for the video, very helpful. The parts manual specs the head bolts @ 7-10 FOOT lbs, which is (for you engineering buffs) 84-120 in pounds. Don't over tighten the head bolts as he said, b/c the head is an aluminum casting. I used blue loctite on the head bolts, but was afraid to use it on the fan bolt, as mine was Torx bolt. Parts are all over the internet, but you'll need the parts manual for a Craftsman 919.152920. The connecting rod kit he used is a KK-4835. steve

LOL Dale!!! When you were starting to talk about trying it out after completing...I was sitting here smiling thinking..I want to see you start it without electricity!! And then your response was good!! Me, I would have been calling myself a Dumb_ss if I had done the same thing. Good video. First time I have watched one of your videos, but hope to see more. Also subscribed to your KZitems. God bless and Thanks, sir, for the video!!

Thanks Dale for the video. My Craftsman 30 gallon has the same issue, gets up to about 40psi so I fixed it by buying a Quincy 60 gallon ;), but I will definitely buy the piston kit and get this going as my backup.

That counterweight under the conrod levels up any imbalances on the electric motor shaft and from the offset bolt on the fan.

Hey, that piston with the sleeve looks like Santa Claus Bell 🎄⛄🎅🎅. By the way you can add pneumatic oil ISO32 to avoid the wear out of the O ring and the sleeve too.

Where did you get that part, the stainless steel one? I have the same compressor only it’s a 33 gallon. Oh, and what was the cost on it if you don’t mind me asking? I got this one for free, they say that it only needs a check valve, but this might not be a bad idea to replace if the unit is that old. Thank you.

Hi Rutger The kit I used was a KK-4835, I ordered in off Amazon for a little over $40.00 US. You can also do a search on the internet and find it from several venders.

Dale Hobbs .... The guy I got this air compressor from basically says that when the tank gets pressurized to around 45 psi, the check valve blows. Does that sound like it needs a new check valve, or could it be something else?
@DaleHobbs39

Rutger MacDonald I would get a new pressure Valve. Maybe around a 120 psi.

twist of -faith I thought it may have been discontinued. I ran this compressor for a little while and then it threw a rod so I replaced it with a Dewalt. If I get some Spair time this winter I may pull it in and try to get it going.

twist of -faith Yes the rod went out. I think it worked for just over a year. I think running it in cold weather may have something to do with the breakdowns.
