Loved watching this. Cross roads was one of my favourite soaps in the day. I'm 60 now. I often wish crossroads would come back.

I met Susan Hansen and her husband Carl Wayne ( famous Birmingham musician) at an Audi VW dealership in Birmingham about 1985 , very nice friendly approachable people.

Wow I've just found this what a real blast from the past I still have very vivid memories of crossroads on TV from my childhood my mother was an avid fan and never missed an episode it was always on in our house my father wasn't too fussy about it though and would get up and go out of the room when it came on

@@bartram33 not in to war films, but my one exception is The Great Escape, seen it 100 times, and I’ve never noticed that, now I need to watch it again to see that bit! Thank you for not pointing out I misspelt Role in my comment, always a sad somebody who needs to show how clever they are by telling someone of their spelling and grammatical errors on here. If you know the gist of the comment, why do people do that?

This was filmed at Penns Hall hotel down the road from me in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield. Ramada took it over, a few yrs ago a few hundred bookings were cancelled for weddings, parties, meetings etc as they sold out to the Government Invaders scheme.

I met David Fennell who played Brian He ran a pub called the Hit and Miss at Hazlemere in Bucks I used to deliver supplies to him and he would tell me stories about his acting days in Crossroads

David Hunter (Ronald Allen) was in an episode of 'the comic strip presents' if i remember rightly he was really funny and dry in it, but it must have been almost 40 years ago lol. i feel a google coming on.

Ronnie Allen was also in another Hazel Adair & Peter Ling soap 'Compact' (BBC 1962-1965) where he played Ian Harman, the editor of "Compact' the womens magazine. I would have liked to have seen some info on Pamela Vezey, who played Kath Brownlow and who, IRL died the same day as my mum, and of the same illness, and Trish Hope, one of Meg's friends and employees and who will ever forget Mr. Lovejoy (William Avenall) J. Henry Pollard and his flirty wife played by Heather Chasen. We need a part two!

@@minty448 Clearly you don't watch Coronation Street in 2023 then - Craig, The Keystone Cop, Steve, the gurning taxi driver, Mincing Sean to name a few - you could start a timber yard with them. Ronnie Allen could do gravitas - the trio I have just mentioned wouldn't even know what that was - they would probably think it an own brand version of Bisto.

Thank you for this of course. Angus Lennie was also in a series called Dad that was on BBC1 between 1997 to 1999; or at least one episode of it. It also starred George Cole and Kevin McNally too. The episode that he was in I am sure was meant to be in a golf course clubhouse. I think the son fellow was meant alas at the time to have had piles sadly, and in it he asked him whether that cream worked up his bottom or not?! I know he then said to him that it had, but it was in front of many other people as well too! I think that series was written by Andrew Marshall; who had already done 2 point 4 Children there too at the time also. He was also a writing partner with David Renwick, who of course before that wrote One Foot In The Grave on BBC1 as well too. Well done too!

True story.....one of the several Directors was a lecturer at Salford University when I was there, (97 to 99) and I was a mature student but the younger ones had never heard of it. He used to say that he couldn't even bear to see himself in the mirror after working on it but I think he was being a bit unfair to himself.

No mention of Dave Moran, who played Kevin Banks. I first met Dave and his wife in the seaside town of Ramsgate in Kent. He was a very funny man who enjoyed life.

Used to watch this every evening. My Mum and Dad were firm fans, not that in those days there was very much competition. What about Hugh Mortimer? He was a regular for many years and also Carlos the Chef? Lastly the Garage owner/manager? Forgotten his name but can see his face ...................... As a young boy back then had quite a thing for 'Jill', thought that she might have been a bit of a goer!. Seem to remember from the dark recesses of my memory, that Ronald Allen (David Hunter) was in the b/w Film of the Titanic.

Jim. Baines in the garage played by John Forgeham who had also appeared in the 1969 Italian Job I loved Crossroads but I am a Brummie! Some of the later filming took place at the Penns Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield, last time I heard it was being used as a 4 star Asylum Seekers Hotel!

In the late 70's I was working in a DIY store called Rubber Crafts in the which was then the Birmingham Shopping Centre and I sold a Bosch electric drill to Ronald Allen (David Hunter) I met a number of the cast but spending 20 minutes talking to Ronald was awesome.

Hilarious Crap. One time Md Lovejoy was waiting to be handed the salt but the actor forgot his lines ad did not give it to him and then Lovejoy made it worse by thanking him, genuinely not ironically, for the salt that the guy forgot to pass to him but he did not know how to improvise so tried to pretend it really happened lol

@@johnwalsh128 Hello John i refer to the Wickipedia source if you type in Crossroads tv series ,in the article about it Tony Hatch is the composer and wrote the music, however Paul McCartney and his band wings played the theme when the show had a cliff hanger at the end as a special arrangement and was on the Venus and mars album ,there is a section called theme music in the article in Wicki :}

@@johnwalsh128 Paul did not write it, John, it was Tony Hatch, but Paul recorded a slow version on the 1975 Wings album 'Venus And Mars' which was used whenever 'Crossroads' had a particularly sad ending.

The recent “ Nolly” was absolute rubbish. Helena Bonham Carter 😊in a fur coat looked NOTHING like Noel Gordon. Very dark dead eyes. Noel Gordon had very bright blue eyes. You’d have thought that was the first thing they’d have sorted. Absolute rubbish 😖

Yeh I agree, nothing like her, tho she did get her voice in the end. As for the outbursts an expletives, as a lady it did not become her. "Larry Grayson" was clearly miscast, apart from trying to be camp, he was nothing like Larry...
