Yeah, same here. Had pretty good skin my entire life, now I'm 19 and started a skincare routine, and I started breaking out, having dry skin and a few days ago, I noticed the first blackhead ever on my face. Now I just went back to only sunscreen and my skin's going back to normal again. The whole skincare game is that when you use cleanser, it strips you out, then you use a hydrating thing and it clogs your pores, then you use an exfoliant, then you use something to calm your skin and it goes on. Atleast it went like this for me. Now, I believe in my skin, it knows itself better than I do. It has its own mechanisms. It's naturally good without me even trying to do something. I just need preventative measures like sunscreen, nothing else. It's just a waste of time and money. I think by using multiple products, we just ruin our skin's pH and microbiome.

it’s due to Individual genetics. Melanated people can also have hyperpigmentation, strawberry skin, cystic acne, psoriasis, eczema, etc… just because you’ve been blessed doesn’t mean everyone else is. Although I wish everyone had clear healthy skin… The reason why certain things (like retaining collagen) is easier for most melanated skin is because the melanin is protecting the collagen and skin barrier from the sun.

are referring to IN india? your skin is an organ just like your heart is and responds to your overall health meaning diet exercise and mental health have a lot of impact on your skin... also clear skin doesnt necessarily mean healthy skin.. you can have clear skin and still have dry patches or texture or fine lines... not wearing spf will also cause your skin to look worse but it wont be something you notices until a decade or two down the line when the sun damage starts coming to the surface of your skin, but by then its 20x harder to deal with than prevention would have been... bar soap is often heavily basic and the skins natural ph is 5.5 so using bar soap isnt bad but it shouldnt be a basic soap with a high ph because that is going to strip your skin of its natural oils and cause your skin to over produce oil/sebum... its not as simple as "bar soap is the answer to saving ur skin !!!!!" some skin with acne can literally be healthier than someone with clear skin now...

Everyone asks me my skincare routine, but I don't do anything elaborate, just wash and moisturizer. I make sure to wash my pillow cases regularly, but otherwise. I think we all try to do too much to our that's the problem. I used to try all these different types of skin care products and they damaged my skin and caused break outs. I stopped, and my skin went back to normal. If you're going to skin care products, use vegan ones that don't dry out your skin as much. My mom uses Keys Soul Care, and her skin looks better than ever.

I don't use skincare products either. I'm 17 and somehow just don't get any acne and never have. Every so often in the past I've gone, "I'm a teenager, I should be using skincare products like everyone else my age" and then as soon as I try using any products I start getting acne. Kind of annoying because with the current emphasis on skincare on social media it can feel like I'm supposed to be doing some elaborate 12 step routine morning and night, when my skin can't handle 1 step. Of course though I won't compare my self consciousness around that to how people can feel about acne, I know that can be very difficult for people, and I'm glad people are finding solutions that work for them. I've decided to just trust my skin now

Simple is best. I always had clear skin until I started experimenting with different products to find the "right fit". Big mistake 🤣 Sure, at first, my skin was super moisturized and had a nice golden brown glow. Now I'm breaking out like crazy (which has NEVER happened to me before). So yeah, I'm going back to simply moisturizing and wearing sun screen.

My skin was horrific, dry, sensitive and red. I used so many expensive skin products to fix it, nothing worked. Now I just use a mild exfoliant, rose water for toner, extra virgin unrefined coconut oil to moisturise and spf. My skin is amaaaazing now. Simple is best (and cheapest)

Black/African people, our secret to maintaining healthy, clear skin is simply to stick to a basic skincare routine. We don't need to complicate things. When you hear words like "Are you wearing makeup?" or compliments like "You have smooth skin," just know you are taking excellent care of your skin✨️.
