Welcome to Episode Three in our Moderately Comic Historic Disused Railway Series. This time round we take a look at the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Line that eventually ran from Winchester, north to Didcot, and through the town of Newbury. As with many others there was huge ambition to link the north to the south, but ultimately the line was to play a much bigger part in the bitter rivalries of two of the railway giants. GWR and LSWR. Enjoy.
