How are you using the ATEM or Rodecaster? What projects do you like them for?

Excellent video! I use Resolve, but the steps are essentially the same. I'm also glad I'm not the only one working across several timelines. LOL. Keep up the great videos.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:13 *🎥 The video discusses editing multi-cam sequences from ATEM Mini ISO Pro and Rode Caster Pro 2 recordings.* 01:26 *📸 The workflow involves capturing video with ATEM Mini ISO Pro and audio with Rode Caster Pro 2 for podcasting.* 03:33 *🧩 The presenter emphasizes the importance of creating a breadcrumb trail with sequences for easy retracing and client changes.* 04:15 *🎬 To start the editing process, the presenter creates a new sequence for each episode, synchronizes audio and video, and adds initial color correction.* 09:56 *🖌️ Scene edit detection is used to identify cuts, and color information is copied from one camera to another for consistency.* 13:43 *🎙️ Audio effects are applied using effect sends, ensuring uniform treatment across the entire track.* 15:21 *🎤 The presenter aligns the audio region to start at the podcast's actual beginning, preparing for multicam sequence creation.* 16:57 *🔄 The multicam sequence is generated by smashing together video regions, enabling easy editing with the chosen program window feed.* 17:53 *🔄 Before flattening the multi-cam sequence for export, the presenter duplicates the sequence for flexibility and creates a notes file for client feedback.* 18:35 *📤 The final step involves exporting the flattened sequence through media encoder, ensuring a faster export process.* 19:04 *📝 To preserve previous edits and client feedback, the presenter creates a duplicate sequence for additional client revisions.* 19:17 *🔄 The presenter shows an alternative method for quick multicam sequencing by using Premiere's automated processing, suitable for workflows without extensive color grading.* 20:11 *🎬 This automated method generates a stacked multi-cam sequence but lacks the ability to reference source files for later edits.* 21:36 *👍 The tutorial concludes, encouraging viewers to like, subscribe, and engage in the community for more content on editing multi-cam sequences with A10 mini pro ISO and Rode Caster Pro 2.*

Great video! I do this too with ATEM Mini Pro ISO and Premiere. Wondering if you've ever seen the ATEM cut a longer interview into two files, like a DSLR would, where it chops the files? I had a long podcast last week and when I tried to pull it all into multicam in Premier and use the long full Rodecaster audio file to sync on, the second set of files wouldn't sync up right, they just came in as regular video tracks or 'non-multicam'. I tried everything I could think of and could never get it to work. I've seen others take muliple shots from GoPros or whatever and Premiere finds everything and does it perfectly. I can't figure it out and searching only comes back with basic how to multicam.

Thanks! So you're recording gets split into two different files? I haven't seen that. How long was the session? We've done almost 90 min captures and haven't had that issue. I have seen latency issues with that length of time but never cutting the file into two. And when you say premiere finds stuff, I assume you're throwing all the clips on a timeline and asking Premiere to synchronize them? I have had issues every once in a while where the first set of video files will sync but the second set will not. I cut the audio after the first set of videos and then highlight and "re-sync" the second set of video and audio files. If all else fails. I go back to manually syncing them.

@@RobertMTeegarden It was about 120min total, the second set of files were only about 15min in length. I pull all the files into the bin, then select them and create a new multicam sequence. I had to just edit that tail end 15min manually too.

In my case, I am a ROOKIE!!!!! My question is, do I have to do some type of file conversion to use my Atem Mini Pro ISO files with the Premiere?

no, you can pull them across into premiere easily. I actually swap them out for the footage in my camera because it's higher. quality

Great video! I'm curious to know what cord you're using to connect the Rodecaster Pro 2 into the Atem mini Pro ISO? I just got the Rodecaster Pro 2 and I'm debating on getting the Atem Pro ISO to get that 4 channel simultaneous recording.

Awesome, I didn’t know about the scene detection with the ATEM. Thank you! Happy to know the multiple duplication’s is a standard practice. I also make one a 9x16 for social stuff. Something I have learnt is that if you drop all the clips on the timeline sync - nest - create multi-cam - you can do the whole multicam process - but the original timeline can be now edited at any time for color - size etc. thank you again for the info!

Yes, exactly. It's like having a breadcrumb trail and it all links back together. Love that.

Stupid question, I"m on sony cameras, do I set the cameras to s log 3 like I do when im normally shooting/color grading or do I use one of the other picture profiles

Not really a stupid question at all. Our feed to the ATEM is from the pass through on the monitors we use (Ninja V mostly) and that is being sent to the monitor with a LUT baked in the preview. If you don't have that set up, however, you can put PP0 and not have a picture profile.
