The green scam: - Manufacturing an electric car requires up to 6x the amount of metals compared to a gas car. - Lithium mines are the most polluting of all mines. - Most of the electricity used to recharge electric cars comes from coal plants. - Windmills can't generate enough energy in their lifetime to replace the energy cost of their construction and operation.

Most of the electricity to charge an EV comes from coal burning plants. You say that as if it is a bad thing. Power plants burn fossil fuels more efficiently and are better for the environment than a city full of petroleum burning cars. The electricity to charge your car is delivered by wire, while liquid fuels are delivered by diesel trucks, operating constantly, impacting the environment before it ever gets to a consumer. EVs take 6x the metal compared to manufacturing an ICE car? Where did you get that? Why do you and everyone else who wants to sh!t on EVs only mention the cons and not the pros? Why don’t you do a complete comparison of all the pros and cons of both EVs and ICE vehicles? Do you do any of your own research or just take what you’re told?
@RogerMiller-td5yc

And the turbine blades not only require shutting down of large sections of highway to transport, recycling them is impossible due to their carbon composite epoxy resin structure. As for the electric cars they use a large amount of plastics and we all know where that comes from. The fact that traditional cars manufacturers used tech to make their engines very efficient and produce very little emmisions should lead everyone to just continue useing them. "Peak oil" is a lie.

@21:45 Former golf course mower jockey here. If you're going to get pissed off about the sprinklers, don't bitch when the grass turns brown. The surface temperature on a typical grass green can reach 140 F on a sunny, Summer day. Since the grass is cut daily to 1/8 inch, that high of a temp can quickly kill the grass. Water is the best way to cool the green. My course had us dragging heavy hoses around all afternoon going from green to green. Sprinklers are more effective and less labor intensive. Trust me, we had plenty of stuff to do besides babysitting greens.

I'm with the 4-day work week guy. Give me 4x10's 100%. I've done that shift before and it was GREAT. I was more productive, honestly, because you can focus for longer periods of time. It's enough time to be able to have a nice little weekend getaway without digging into your actual vacation time. And he's not wrong about how it feels when you don't work on Mondays. Tuesday is just Monday Lite but you can already see the summit, Wednesday is the top of the hill, Thursday is pre-Friday downhill day, Friday is basically the weekend pregame show. Just have part of the team work Fridays, part work Mondays -- for coverage, if the job needs it -- and there are some who even enjoy the concept of taking Wednesday off. I've done that schedule before, and it's honestly a bit surreal knowing you only have, at most, two days of work before your next day off. That schedule had me feeling the most rested but not as productive -- I think I prefer bigger blocks of time on and off work to allow me to switch mindsets properly. I'm like a freight train. It takes a hot minute to get going, but once I do, get the F outta the way! I also need time to slow down and detach from my work mindset, so having a three-day weekend all the time lets me actually get relaxation done, along with more honey-do stuff. What say you, KZitem junkies?

@14:43-- I used to work at a convenience store right next to a movie theater when I lived in Pflugerville, TX (in Greater Austin). On the weekends, when a family would come in and buy a bunch of snacks, I just smile and say, "Enjoy your movie." I always got a laugh out of them.

😂 We used to start a game with unsuspecting new guys in our group. The game was who can punch the shoulder the softest. You'd do a couple of rounds to lull them in to a sense of security then lay an epic frog on their shoulder saying, "I lose."

I suppose that's a possibility. Where I live, given the sales tax, an item that costs $100 - 25% discount comes out to $81.19, of course rounded up.

Ahahahaha! As the first one in my peer group to have a child, I can vouch for the accuracy of this statement. Have 'em when you're young, my friends. Because then you'll still have youth and vigor when you pack them off to college or wherever you can send them off to. Then you can still have some fun before you have to take care of your folks. ~new Empty Nester.

At my daughter's graduation party, she and her friends did the whirlpool thing. Also, we have the best cat in the world. She doesn't wake us up for food, she waits until we're up and goes and stands by her dish looking at it until it's filled.

We did the whirlpool thing back early 80s… heck it may have been 79, I know I hadn’t graduated high school and our pool friends were little so we would have them get sucked away by the current 😂 PS nah no one drowned or died, we had loads of fun.

To answer the Costco question about our hours, we open at 10am and close at 8:30pm on weekdays. There are sometimes exceptions, but that's usually how it is. We don't open at 6am because our morning crew literally needs all that time to stock everything up until the doors open for customers at 10am. 7am to 10am is massive crunch time.

A guy was fined by a municipality (I think it was Edenvale if memory serves) because he fixed a pothole in the road right in front of his house. The fine was for not fixing it "in accordance to municipal standards". 🤣 The potholes do make driving at night much more fun...... during load shedding.
