People have short memories Eddie. The job Eddie Howe has done is nothing short of outstanding and I think your summary is very fair. The ffp situation prevents the owners from going out and making things happen any quicker and I think the owners are probably frustrated by that as well.

As an outsider (wolves fan) I totally agree. I’ve always liked Eddie Howe, it’s great to see him take the opportunity and run with it at Newcastle. I think the next 2 years, IF Newcastle can pick up a Carabao cup perhaps, something that elevates the culture I think Newcastle become a different beast. Best of luck for the rest of the season. Apart from the wolves game of course haha.

Disgruntled Newcastle fans need to step back and take a breath. The mention of Eddie Howe and removing him would be the first real mistake made by the PIF. Ed and his generals have given us all football, the likes of which we haven’t seen in almost 2 decades. I’d suggest the ‘boo boys’ are quite possibly those that weren’t alive during those barren years. Get behind the club, the team, the individuals on the park and support them vociferously like only we can. Should we turn Sunderland over, it’ll shut the bemoaners up at least temporarily. Simply, ya can’t please everyone all of the time. In Eddie we trust. HWTL

Eddie Howe is obviously still the right man for the job. I cant think of anyone who could have achieved what he has achieved with the team, both re team organisation and motivation as well as the massive improvements he has made to individual players. Fans wanting to get rid of him really need to give their heads a shake. We have too small a squad for the style of football we play and need a number of additional players to strengthen and improve it. The ffp rules unfortunatly favour the long term wealthy clubs with existing large and expensive squads - we need patience. Getting into Europe probably did us no favours this season.

Hi Eddie, another great video thanks. I would like to clear up what people don't seem to understand about NUFC, our owners have a 5yr plan which includes 10 transfere windows, because of FFP we need that time to invest in good quality players and good quality depth, we were fantastic last season but it was not sustainable, we rely heavily on intensity and that takes a lot of work, it is not possible to play like that and play every 3/4 days and train intensely. EDDY HOWE needs time and if he is given it I am convinced that we will be world beaters, a new manager would mean a new way of playing so the 5yr plan would have to reset to the beginning
@theuninivitedguest

I totally agree and if a new manager comes in what would happen if his style of play doesn't work and then heaven forbid Newcastle are in a relegation battle, would the fans who are saying Howe should be sacked ask for the new manager to be sacked. I think the fans who are asking for Howe to be sacked should give their heads a really hard shake and what Newcastle is 9th in the league at least it ain't fighting relegation like Newcastle did season in season out when Ashley was in charge of the club with Pardew, Bruce and Alladyance at the helm

Eddie of course wasnt everyones choice at the offset of his tenure and say those 10% in the poll were possibly those doubters ? Eddie has taken us forward vastly and the players seem to love him and his style is befitting of a great club. No antics etc. He hasnt managed at Champion League level before and this year he will have learned an awful lot for the next Euro journey i am sure based on this season . Its all about learning and developing and thats what we are doing throughout a club that is playing catch up on FFP etc after a very poor run ship for many years . Onwards and Upwards

@listey our owners are the richest in football. The problem is, the club doesn't generate anywhere near as much money as the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man U, so they are far more restricted in what they can spend because of Financial Fair Play rules. The rules were created for an ostensibly good reason. In our particular case, however, they are a bit daft and unnecessarily restrictive.

As always excellent content Eddy! I'm amazed 9% are wanting Howe out. Thought it would be at the most 1-2%. Think Howe is seriously underrated. I suggest the 9% check out the High Performance Podcast with Howe and compare him to other managers on that podcast, he came with notes to a podcast!! He is a student of the game, always learning. For sure he makes mistakes but he will learn from them and come back stronger. I would rather him be on our side than against one of his teams. Whilst I am at it, I am also fed up of the people blaming Summer spending. The Tonali and Barnes was simply misfortune, nothing else. Barnes is meant to be better at bringing other players and goal contributions into the game, something that ASM (as much as I loved his style) unfortunately didn't do enough of, he was also fairly injury prone. We brought in Livramanto and Hall as long term investments to prevent spending an additional £20m-30m on them two years down the line. It also allowed us to comply with the squad numbers without being penalised (something I know you've done videos on).

Eddie still has credit in the bank as far as I'm concerned. Injuries have hit hard, but there have undoubtedly been mistakes, on the pitch and in the transfer market. However, in reality, we were never going to be able to compete on all fronts. I'm not surprised 9% want him out. What would be interesting would be to have an understanding of age, whether they are ST holders, if/how long they have been going to matches, etc. We simply can't start sacking managers every time we have a slump, I have confidence in Howe, and he should still be here next season, FFP is my biggest worry and how we can improve the squad and stay within its confines. Great video as usual Eddy. I'm actually not shocked at all with the poll results. I think that the vast majority of fans have been with NUFC through thick and thin, and are confident that we'll come through this bad patch. However, I believe that our fan base has grown significantly since the new owners came in, and unfortunately it is likely that many of them are feeling this hurt for the first time. Let's nip the 'Eddie is NOT an elite manager' in the bud. Name a single manager that has achieved what Eddie has over the years. Taking on a (Bournemouth) team sat at the bottom of the lowest league in English football, winning league title year after year until they reached the prem. Taking a team (NUFC) doomed to relegation to a champion's league and a cup final within 2 years, and with much the same playing staff. Has Klopp, Guardiola, or Mourinho achieved that? It might be suggested that winning a trophy may be an easier task if granted the almost unlimited spending that the richest clubs have enjoyed in the past. I don't think ANY of those three would join a club given the same situation Eddie has faced and with the same financial constraints. Looking forward to our bright future.

I'm so pissed off at certain sections of the fanbase even entertaining the idea of wanting Eddie out. Yes the last couple games have been below par but this is football at the highest level, it happens! As you say the injury situation is unprecedented, it's been such a huge injury list that it's become crippling. Even if we had up to 13 players out last season playing once a week that still would have been really bad - but I'd love to see other managers/teams try and give it a go playing every 3 days with 12-13 players out! These things aren't Eddies fault and I've said before on a previous video that I believe PIF even as ruthless as they may be totally understand the problems Eddie has had to face this season. Has he made mistakes with in game tactical decisions? Of course....Dropping Tino and matching Burn up against Elanga which cost us big time - and then not changing it until after we went 2-1 down was of course imo one of the mistakes Eddies made during this period, but nobody is perfect and the best managers around all make mistakes, and the most important thing to take from all of this is in a season where Eddie is experiencing this kind of thing for the first time he will be learning so much from this that if he is still Newcastle manager next season (and I really hope he is) he will be a much better manager because of this and the fans that are wanting him out will be eating their words. Fans getting on the Eddie Out bandwagon are just fuelling the fire so that if it ends up happening it could be something we as a club regret for years

He's been worth every penny, Botman has been fantastic, Trippier has been the best RB we've ever had in our entire history, Bruno FFS.....You honestly think we wasted money on him!? What are you talking about!! 😂 As for Tonali - as stated in the video nobody anticipated he would be banned for the entire season...that is not Eddies fault at all, he clearly formed his plans for the season around Tonali only for him to be banned so thats just a huge blow to Eddie more than anything, and as for Barnes him breaking a bone in his foot is NOT Eddies fault, he was brought in to be a vital rotational 1st team player but he's been injured for most of the season....again how on earth can you put that down to mismanagement from Eddie?? The other players who helped us get top 4 like Schar, Longstaff, Murphy, Wilson, Almiron, Joelinton, Willock etc - if anything you can say them playing the way they did is actually testament to Eddies brilliant management skills to transform them the way he did. Another calm and matter of fact video Eddie, well done. It's refreshing to hear this insight, which I think is the one from the majority of fans over the click bait KZitemrs seeking to get sensation out of the smallest of angles on the club. Whilst I'm not entertaining the idea of Eddie Howe leaving the club anytime soon, I am open minded enough to acknowledge that if results dont improve within the first couple of months of 2024 then the PIF will simply compare team results / performances to the end of 2021/22 season plus last season and conclude that Eddie H has taken the club backwards, there can be no denying it, at this point the PIF may elect to make a managerial upgrade as they would see it. I'm sure Amanda and Co will want to hold on to Eddie until the bitter end.

Hi mate, thanks for your balanced and considered response. I’d just say that the PIF have realistic and long term plans. They’ve shown no evidence to suggest that this season should be an improvement on last. In fact, on the contrary, to which evidence in the video. I’m certain the PIF will chalk this season off as a combination of what they expected, with the unexpectedly long injury list. No manager in the world could have coped with this. What we don’t want see is short term knee jerks and then hiring and firing the next gun for hire. It’s likely we’ll finish in and around 7-9th this season and We’ll build again in the summer for a fresh campaign 👍🏻

High pressure football. Longer season. VAR delay having issues with players and potentially causing injuries. Due to the amount of injuries players getting burnt out. It all adds up. If we finish 6th or 7th i think that is reasonable all things considered. People forget all the players we have or had out....Wilson, Isak, Barnes, Murphy, Willock, Burn, Pope, Trips, Longstaff, Botman. That is a huge amount out at any time. People these days are just so blinded by the fact that their team must win the league. Stark contrast to where we were with Allardyce, Pardew, Bruce, Souness and Joe F-ing Kinnear. Ridiculous that people are questioning Howe. Pathetic really. 6:46

Well Presented piece that Eddie, loads of conundrums to ponder, this derby is ginormous, and as many have said could turn the tide against Eddie Howe if the unthinkable happened, as you said, at this moment there is not much in it, a replay even for me, genuinely, i just can't make a solid prediction. I've heard quite a few people say they predicted that we would be were we are in the table about now because of the heavy schedule. But injuries whether we like it or not have mashed us up, the players playing every week are wrung out. Take the Liverpool game, yes we were well beaten, but on 81 mins we were bang in it at 3-2, thing is Liverpool brought on real quality, we could not do that, Wilson, Wilock, Trippier, Barns, Tonali, Pope, Anderson, Murphy, all unavailable, it's a massive miss. Liverpool bar Robertson had a full team out, let's see them without Van Dyke or Salah for a long period out, different story. If our season mirrored Liverpool's injury wise, we would be well up there challenging. And of course off field antics of certain players have not helped and affected their form, cost us dearly to be fair. So, bit of a rant there but got to stick with Eddie Howe, things will come good again. HWTL.

The thing is, if you quiz someone who says “Howe out” and ask them who’d they prefer, they always say stuff like “someone like Jose” - the man who loses dressing rooms everywhere he goes, and only gets success when he can open his big cheque book, and does nothing for the team’s youth coming through.

Massive headwinds with injuries and bad draw for league cup and ucl, major fatigue but it will sll ease up from february onwards. We've had 2 steps forward and 1 step back but Howe has slways adapted as he's gone up through the levels

We're not far behind where we were in points this time last season. Just because the press would love to see us crumble, and have generated all this uncertainty around Howe, doesn't mean we should be gullible and start believing it. We also need to take a long look in the mirror, and start recognising elitist nonsense attitudes within ourselves, attitudes which we usually attribute to the Sinister Six, if we honestly believe that a team like Luton or Forest shouldn't be capable of beating us if everything's going their way at the time. That's just life. For Howe's job to be called into question, because we now think it's 'beneath' us to be beaten by teams like those, is not who we ought to be as a fanbase. We've got 29pts. We're not in a relegation battle. How quickly have we forgotten those feelings? Naturally, we don't want to just coast through life, but we're not in dire straits. Everything's fine. We've had bad injuries compared to last year and we've had a crap set of fixtures. Why's that mean Eddie's neck is on the chopping block, and what does that say about us, if it is?

My thoughts, 10% sounds about right. i bet tho that 10% are mainly people who are new supporters, after the takeover, or fans who have said they were Newcastle supporters but never watched matches or gone to any and suddenly started. The problem is 1 loud fan can be louder than 9 quiet fans. I always took it as a project, first year don't get relegated, pissed it. 2nd year mid table, pissed it. 3rd year start pushing for european spots, on target for that.

Ok as an ex coach and long time toon fan I'll give you my honest opinion. I am concerned about our recent form but given the injury list and the mental effect of what's going on in players personal lives I don't feel we can lay the blame with anyone in particular. Saying that long term I don't think Eddie Howe will be our manager as I feel he is a bit limited tactically and I point to Bournemouth when saying that. They had a brilliant run under Eddie but then one year they dropped. Now I'm not saying we will get relegated and I'm not saying Eddie should be sacked because neither is true. I feel he is the right man for us now and we need to focus on now and getting the team spirit back and form back up. As for the FA Cup match against the tramps I think we will win but it wouldn't surprise me if we drew and had a replay at ours because our fans deserve a derby at home it's been too long.

hey mate upfront im not a NUfC supporter, however ome points you made resonated, theres an underlining, thing that has in recent years become toxic to our beloved game who ever we follow . clubs paying ridiculs salarys ,and ott contracts years to this new genwration of entitled rock stars that are weak , not commited to the club or the fanbase , and are in a comfort zone on ridiculous mney that the fans could only dream of !!. not just newcastle , but the top ten in epl ,and also clearly now prominent in other european leagues ,it has to stop ,if it dont our belouved game will start to collapse bigtime .

Ayup Eddy pal, I've read that Newcastle fans HAVE to travel to Sunderland on official coaches and will receive match tickets as they get off the coaches. Too much control for my liking that mate. What if some want to travel by car? On the actual game, yes maybe a bit tricky but positive vibes required. Yes derbies are horrible. Even though we have the upper hand in our derby I still hate them. Best of luck to Newcastle. Another great vid Eddy. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's with the Sunderland you tuber.

Eddie Howe in one word is Proffesional, he puts the capital P in the word professional. He will take us further and the right man for the job. When i look at the Liverpool game and the pathetic antics and behaviour of klopp (no capital k for him, unworthy of it) on the sidelines, well it just smacks of unprofessionalism. Our muscle injuries are in line with other clubs in the league. All clubs in the league are experiencing higher than average hamstring injuries. This has been exacerbated however with a thread bare squad playing more or less all matches in recent weeks. We’ve got two dislocated shoulders, a fractured toe, Achilles tendon injury and one recently returned from an ACL injury. Callum Wilson is a regular with injuries. Isak has a recurring groin strain There’s no evidence to suggest there is something wrong with our training, or medical set up 👍🏻

I think if any fan is really truly against Eddie then they have completely missed what’s been going on at the club, everything you just said is what I said at the end of last season, it may sound stupid, my family said I being stupid when I said it, I was over the moon to finish top 6 but I was fearful and said I’m just gutted that it means we have CL next year, because I knew we didn’t the depth of squad to cover all games and the inevitable injuries that came with so many more games than just the PL alone. I know we need consistent top 6 finishes to attract better players but, I just felt it was too good too soon because we hadn’t really had enough time to build a deeper stronger squad, I do hope we smash the mackems on Saturday though, hopefully give the rest of our season a kickstart.
