Hey Mr David Wondering about the 2/4 of the fence frame that you've ripped it to 2/2 ..is it feels nice and strong fence? About the table saw :you've shown us the it cut 2/4 fast and smooth. ...it's awesome. ..do you think it'll do the same with the 6ah battery? ???(you used the 9.0ah right? ?) Also I'm wondering to my self for a long time if the Rockwell jawhorse (rk9002/9003) can hold table saws nice and still. .. I think I'm going to try it in the next months. ..I think you should also ..

Won't the crown staples rust outdoors? Will they pull out since they are smooth shank? Will the 2x2 horizontal pieces sag? I first started doing fence work over 30 years ago and always used hot dipped galvanized ring shank or twisted shank nails to prevent pull out especially on pressure treated pine as they dry out and warp with enormous force. I also run a string line on the top as a guide too. I buy 8' post and install in the ground 2' in concrete. My dad was a contractor and I worked with him since I was about 12 years old.

I understand. It would be cool if you did a 1 year update video on how it all turned out using staples as the fence fasteners. I haven’t had any issues with screws coming out. Nails? Sure, it happens. I tried some hot dipped galvanized ring shank nails on a project i did two years ago and it’s done well with only 2-3% showing about 1/8th proud. I built with PT lumber so some of that could be settling or shrinkage. With screws the only issues I’ve had have been with shrinkage of PT lumber if it’s still pretty moist when I start. Cool to see someone using the stapler! What’s the staple cost per thousand?

This is a video on what not to do in fence building. Stringers should be at least 2 x 4's. 4 x 4 fence post should be at least 24 inches deep and concreted and set before attaching fence pickets. This would not withstand hurricane force winds. You guys need to be using a nail gun, not a staple gun. You are using 2 x 4's split in half and using one screw to attach each end. WOW!!! Building a fence this way is a total waste of time and money.

The dewalt stops shooting when it gets down to the last few staples to protect it from dry firing...my 20v framing gun does the same thing when it gets down to the last 7 nails or so...it is working the way it was designed to work. Mark , you were making a cut with the circular saw using your right hand to hold the saw and holding on to the other piece with your left hand , you are leaving yourself open to the saw kicking back and possibly hurting yourself very bad brother. I am by no means telling you how to work , just trying to help. You should have walked to the other side of the table , held the wood that was sitting on the table with your left hand and then cut with your right hand letting the shorter piece fall to ground. Again , just trying to help , God bless y’all.

@DavidFDay That's because the degradation i spoke of comes from time. What you basically built is a pre- fab panel, like the ones you can buy at lowes/home depot, etc. I tear them down and replace them quite often. The elements are going to degrade your rails in less than half the amount of time a normal piece of lumber would. I'm sure you're used to people just commenting to be rude or whatnot, but that wasn't my intention. I was simply stating the truth. You constructed it fine, so I wouldn't expect the stuff you named to have any effect on it, but I can assure you that fence will being need of repair/replacement years ahead of a similar fence constructed with whole rails. In the end, it won't be worth trying to save the $150. Either way, I don't care how you build your fences. You're a grown man, build them as you please, but sometimes it may pay off to listen to folks who do what you're doing for a living. Or not. Enjoy your day, Buddy.
