This video is about market gardening in Southeast Alaska, including harvesting Salanova lettuce for the first time this season as part of a salad mix with baby chard and orach, also harvesting baby spinach then having too many bags of baby greens and deciding to sign up for the monthly community market after selling at the garden; discussing issues with timing transplant & harvest of weekly lettuce successions, this week seeding a late sixth succession and transplanting a timely fourth succession while considering previous crane fly larvae damage which is not presently occurring; also transplanting a second succession of green onions; harvesting kale, collard, mustard greens in two 40-ft beds and determining available weekly quantities; noting germination of basil under lights at the house and germination of a second seeding of mizuna & spinach in the garden; all occurring while using jugs of ice in a broken refrigerator (chest freezer conversion using a temperature controller unit); and getting a visit from two mother deer and their babies.
