For everyone who has commented on my blouse.... I made it from a vintage embroidered tablecloth! I just cut a hole for my head. Sewed it till it fit me, then made a nice neckline. I'm pleased you all think it's pretty! Thank you ☺️

It’s a refreshing change to follow a fellow left handed stitcher, makes it so easy to understand what you are doing. This was an excellent explanation of how to do the pages! I’d been wondering if the bonding would make it difficult to stitch as I do have some hand arthritis. My late Mom did as well, but she never stopped stitching and managed to do beautiful handwork well into her 90s. I aim to do the same!

It was difficult when I first decided I would start and cut up old linens.... All that work ... by someone maybe like me... getting cut up! But now I just think I'm enjoying their work. I appreciate it and think of them when I'm using something to stitch with. In my mind, that's surely better than languishing in a drawer , never seeing the light of day, unless getting cleared out to a thrift shop!

Hi, Marion! I didn’t see the first five minutes of the book because I was staring at your blouse. That’s something you might put on your video to-do list. I wondered how you got it to drape so nice in the front. I enjoyed watching you begin the innards of your book. I really like the different edge stitches. There are so many beautiful things in the world, it’s hard for me to pick just one. Decades ago I bought Fiestaware place settings and could not pick one color, so I bought settings in nine different colors. That’s what it’s like in Mara’s world. I’m feeling more energetic after a medication change in the morning. I got a lot of things done today. You have inspired me. On the back end of life, every day becomes more precious, so it’s a great time for me to have met you. You are my wise woman. 💜

How did you make your felt ironing board?
@marionsworld24
11 ай бұрын
It's actually a piece of sound muffling board. My husband had used it to muffle the noise of a machine. It looks like grey felt but I think it's recycled milk cartons. Anyway I tentatively tried the iron to see if it would stand up to the heat....and it did! So I just cut the pieces up and covered them with fabric 😊
@dougwalt3683

what is a bonded fabric? sorry a beginner here 🤩🤩🤩
@marionsworld24
9 ай бұрын
In an earlier video in this series I show how to bond the fabric with a backing paper called Bondaweb. It's known by different names depending on which country you live in. It's like a web of paper backed glue that you iron on to the back of your fabric . Once you're ready to complete your project the backing paper peels off and the fabric can then be ironed onto another piece as the glue melts the two pieces together with the heat of the iron. It's a technique often used to stick down fabric for appliqué.
