Right on! You rule, Dustin. Thanks for the video. You're a real motivation. I just had my hips replaced and am 6 weeks from being able to hike and camp again. You're videos and your enthusiasm for the outdoors has helped "keep me outdoors" so to speak. Thanks you, so much.

Hey Dustin great video! In cleaning the vain out you can grap the tail and kinda move it to either side and then pull the guts out in one long string. Sometimes it doesn;t work but most of the time it does. Thanks!!

You know, years ago Ray Mears did a video on cleaning and cooking crayfish. He dispatched the crayfish with a knife blade to the back of the head, and then he gutted it by taking the central flange at the back of the tail and pushing it first to the right until he heard it click, and then he gently pulled the flange and the long black alimentary canal out. Then he just stuck a hand carved skewer back up through the crayfish, and stuck it into the ground near the fire until it turned red, he didn't even have to boil it. I'd like to see if you can duplicate that and show us how it turns out

Oily Mackarel works as the best bait for crayfish. You can either use Old Bay seasoning, or aa Caijun Hot seasoning, or you can even combine both and add a lemon or two cut in half and added to the broth to cook them in.

how did am. crawfish get to england? btw, you can purge crawfish by putting them in salted water. Can you get crawfish boil in england from louisiana? it's really good. Also it is spicy. It's meant to be used with red potatoes and corn on the cob.

BTW....for fowl, you only have to worry about the round hollow bones: thigh, leg and wings. The flat bones, like the breast bone and vertebrae do not splinter when crunched up and are safe for a dog to eat.

If you have a healthy digestive tract you don't really need to bother with cleaning the crays overly well. That is if you don't mind a bit of muddy taste. Also, keep in mind that that waters might carry some pollution, but in very low dosages they won't do any longterm damage.

Here is a trick when flusing and crayfish, lobster, crab. soak them in enough water to cover and add one teaspoon to one tablespoon of cornmeal. they will eat the corn meal and flush their guts of algae and other detritus. Need ocean water for lobsters and crabs.

Bird bones are only dangerous after they are cooked because they splinter. Mammal bones are ok only after they are cooked when raw mammal bones also splinter. Splintered bones can piece a dog's intestines.

There are no cave men ok, there are intelligent men that worked hard to survive, and assholes that came alone and stole of the hard working men, as long as a person is surviving and not an asshole, their a survivor and good on them. Just saying so you dont get lost in the mentality that has been forced on all of us.
