This is a great option on that stretch of road. For pull-through, the Flying J at Beaverdam, just to the north, supports that, and is expected to online any day now.

So, if my math is correct, these can top out around 200kW on a 400V Tesla? I assume the answer is yes, but can both plugs be used simultaneously on a single unit?

Correct 500 amps means about 200kw, normally a bit less A model 3 big battery often depending on the year can see nearly 680 amps from a V3 supercharger.

@@darrenorange2982 yep and with few exceptions CCS Type 1 connectors are limited to a 500 A per the agreed upon standard. However in my experience if you bring a fast charging Tesla with an adapter to a Delta 350, a commonly specified hardware by EVgo, you’ll see as many as 540 Amps and this equates to about 210 kW for my car at a lower state of charge.

@@skyemalcolm Sometimes at 800V some of them will be able to dispense closer to 550 amps but only really the Hummer or biggest battery GMs can do that.

@@fiehlsport oh and sorry yes these units allow for simultaneous charging, on car on each side using two plugs at the same time. However if that’s happening I don’t know for sure if you’re getting 1000 A total or 500 A in each cable simultaneously. Perhaps I’d need to review the nameplate power ratings and the overall site limit in terms of the transformer to discern that. Obviously the best way to check that for sure is 4 fast charging cars plug in together and try to load up the two chargers and the site as a whole.

Thanks for sharing, this station is not on plugshare yet. We were routed there by our Rivian and your video validated the decision. The hardware was built in Texas as this factory: kzitem.info/news/bejne/lIN9u6ajjqyQdIY
