Could also be a good idea to create a default template where there is a dedicated track (for example the first track) on your project for sample manager only. Then any time you need to search for samples, just open the sample manager on that first track and drag the samples (I’m assuming they’re draggable) to whichever track to want to use. That way you can search quickly and use simpler or sample if you prefer.

I’ve been able to put together a portable studio for less than $200. I’ve got Cubasis running on my iPad, & I’ve paired that with an Akai Bluetooth keyboard. All of the sound-oriented apps are available in Cubasis & can be loaded as .au files, this dramatically reduces the processing overhead & all of the plugins can be removed once I’m satisfied with that particular track, leaving me free to add more tracks. Though I haven’t taken things down as far as they go, I believe that a 16 to 24 track of undefined size can be created without crashing. Not a bad $200!

Hey Tobias, the Sample Manager does the same. The difference being I suppose is you can have multiple instances of ADSR SM but you cannot with Loopcloud.

Love this! I’ve be looking for a sample manager that works across many platforms for years. Each DAW has their own clip, loop or sample manager, but they all are missing “ysomething” and they’re aligned to a particular vendor (like Apple loops and Producer Packs in GarageBand and Logic). I want to have all my sample and loop files in 1 place, but access those samples from MacOS, Windows or iOS. Ideally, I’d have that files database on the cloud - to free up local storage space - but also ensure my latest samples can be used on my iPad, as well as in the studio. Well… ADSR looks to be more capable than the others, and Waves Cosmos is certainly interesting, but none have an iOS app. 😢

Nice demo but the sample manager only searches by name and not by "audio DNA." I think this is where Sononym's strength lies, in the ability to search by sample sound and not by the filename. Still, this is a very decent tool if you organize everything by name.

Great tool, but as for the DRUM pad idea, that's now superseded by "XO" and "ATLAS" two tremendous VSTs that will go steps further, and organize them automatically by TYPE OF DRUM HIT (one shots), AND will create a "map" of them with SIMILAR SOUNDS GATHERED TOGETHER, and best of all, with ONE BUTTON, generate a RANDOM DRUM KIT, and then let you LOCK in drum sounds you LIKE, and re-randomize the rest until you get just what you want! Now with drum pattern creators such as what Reason has in Drum Maps, and then tools like RHYTHMIQ, and PLAYBEAT, and tools like REGROOVER and also MICROTONIC and the INFINITE FREE drum beats for it on "Patternarium", drums have gotten WAY EASIER!
