@@AnnabethsEdits nah, in French pronunciation works by letter combinations. So a combination of 2 or 3 letters is pretty much always going to make the same sound, exceptions being foreign words and when letters have 2 dots on top of them (ä, ë, ï, ö, ü, ÿ) in which case they're pronounced individually. It's kind of like LEGOs. Or you can think of it like putting a consonant and a vowel together, like in English, where n + a always make the sound /na/… wait I forgot English has no consistent pronunciation 😂

No weird sound is needed, as the "x" is not pronounced (just to spice-up things for non-native speakers having to learn to spell words with silent letter)

Beware before reading this, not everyone is open for advice: A means that there is one thing. For example: A bottle = one bottle. An means that there is one thing as well, but must be used if the sound afterwards sounds like an a, o, e or i. For example: An apple. X is pronounced similarly to the word eggs. In other words, it starts with an e in the pronunciation. That is the reason why one must say "An x." not "a x".

@@iogamer9844 I think this can be summed up by saying English variates different determiners depending on whether they are pre consonantal or prevocalic. This is in fact more common in older English. Also, the “x” for plurals in French is actually regular. Plus, eau is from Latin aqua, which makes a lot of sense, especially considering Latin did not take PIE wódr (the “r” should have an underdot) as water.

@@riaingalligan8461 No you would just make the bottles plural, not the water. But you can use the plural in different contexts. Like "Les eaux de parfum" to refer to multiple perfumes or les eaux usées (waste water) etc.

@@zelpoa5050 Well... we use "les eaux" as soon as we talk about different kind of waters that could get mixed / merged. For exemple "les eaux usées" when talking about waters going to the sewers, or "les eaux de la loire" when talking about smaller rivers merging into a bigger one etc.

Yeah, but as a german myself i actually like his german pronunciation. You can understand well what he was trying to say and it makes it not sound totally weird, so its fine. As far as i know he isn't fluent in german so considering that, he did an awesome job.

Well he is from Mexico and his parents are French so there ya go. Also his German pronunciation actually kind of French like, as in he kind of rolls the r at the end of Wasser where as a fluent German almost phrases off the r and doesn’t pronounce it as much. No clue about Russian tho
